Dr. Wilt has been a member of the hospital staff since 1959. ' Dr. Edward F. Wilt, Jr., has been named chief of the medical staff at McHenry hospital following the annual meeting of the organization and the re-organization meeting of the board of,, directors. He succeeds Dr. B. L Berman as chief of staff. Dr. Wilt joined the McHenry hospital staff in July, 1959. He has served as vice-chief of staff, secretary and treasurer since coming to McHenry from his position as attending physician at the Ford Medici clinic. Dr. Wilt, 41, was born in Chicago and was educated at the University of Chicago and the University of ChicagoSchool of Medicine. He had a residency in internal medicine in the Henry Ford hospital to Detroit from 1954 to 1957. He had a teaching appointment as a chief medical resident in 1957-58, then duties at the Ford Medical clinic before coming to McHenry. Dr. Wilt is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. The McHenry doctor is an outdoor enthusiast and a Civil War buff. He also is quite knowledgeable on the life and philosophy of Abraham Lincoln. During World War n he served in the U. S. Army in the European and Philippine theaters. He enlisted when he was 17. His areas of public service are many. He is president of the new McHenry County Board of Health and is actively associated with the Illinois Heart association. He has also been a clinical instructor at Loyola university. Dr. Wilt aid his wife have three children. TWO REFERENDUM PROPOSALS ABE s- ON GOP AGENDA The McHenry Township Republican Women's club will begin its 1967 meetings on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 8 p.m. at the V.F.W., McHenry. Mrs. Grant (Gerry) Ernst, first vice-president and program chairman, announced the evening's program will feature a speaker for the proposed Junior, College district for McHenry county and Virgil Pollock, representing the Mental Health referendum. A question and answer period will follow each presentation. Since both proposals, if passed, would require an increase in taxes, it is felt that the program will be of interest to everyone. Therefore, the public is most cordiall$invited to attend. The Illinois Federation of Republican Women notified Mrs. Tom (Boots) Davis, president of the local club, ofherelectionas one Of twenty delegates-at-large to attend the National Federation of Republican Women's convention to be held May 5 and 6 in Washington, D. C. Delegates to that convention will elect new officers of the National federation. The McHenry Township Republican Women will be represented by one voting delegate. Details of the convention- will be discussed at Tuesday's meeting. Meetings of the Republican^ women of McHenry township are Scheduled for the third Tuesday Of the months of February, March, April and May. All of them will be held atthe V.F.W., McHenry.
