Herman Schaefer, former proprietor, took over the business once more following the going into bankruptcy of William R. Wright, who a few . months ago purchased it from Schaefer. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Rothermel and family moved into their new home on River suite drive. This beautiful home, which is entirely new and different from anything yet built in this locality is of the Spanish type. ^Miss Lena Stoffel entertained ather home Feb. 16 the members of the newly formed club. The name of the club is the "Linger Longer Bunco club". The members are Miss Lena Stoffel, Mesdames Frank Schreiner, Frank Meyer, Ted Schiessle, Harry Clark, Ray Howard, George Charmley and Fred Schoewer. Ten Years Ago (Taken from the files of Feb. 7, 1957) Eagle Scout James Kirk will be master of ceremonies at the Father and Son banquet to be held Saturday night, Feb. 9. A Chicago paper carried a feature Sunday concerning the beautiful and spacious home at Pistakee Bay built, board by board, by Ralph and Kate Munson with the help of their three children, Diane, Ralph, Jr., and Lloyd. The project covered three long years including weekend, vacation and night work. William W. Freund, 68, died at his home on Fox street Feb. 6. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Rietesel are the parents of a son, Byron Lor en, born Jan. 30 at the Memorial hospital. Harold Horstman, 30, of Ft. Jennings, Ohio, lost his life, .Ian. 24, in a tragic accident in which his tractor-trailer assembly collided with a car near Moira, N. Y. He was trapped in the flaming assembly. Mr. Horstman was the husband of the former, Elaine Blake of McHenry. Mr. and Mrs. C.R. Draper had a family reunion on Jan. 19 to celebrate their fiftieth wedding anniversary. The wedding date was Jan. 15. Announcement has been received from "Who's Who Among Students" in American universities and colleges in Tuscoloosa, Ala., telling of the acceptance of Gilbert T. Mercure of Lilymoor for recognition in the 1956-57 edition of the above named book.
