HAIL STORM STUDY A spring and summer finding program on hail starmar in Central Illinois began April 3. The program will involve Cooperation of many farmers living in the study area as well as insurance adjustors investigating hail damage, according to the Illinois State Water Survey. The study will combine complete radar and surface observations of any hail occurring over a 29-county area and a study of damage. Field operations, to be conducted April through September in 1967 and 1968, are part of a highly detailed hail study supported by a two-and-a half-year grant from the National Science foundation and by the Crop- Hail Insurance Actuarial association.
