Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Gable made a sad journey to Florida to attend the funeral services of Ken's father who passed away this past week. Debbie Zieman, 3 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Zieman, died Saturday, May 13, at the Woodstock Memorial hospital where she was hospitalized for the past three weeks. JIM STEFFAN INJURED Jim Steffan was seriously injured inanaccident, Saturday, May 6th, Jim is still hospit- - alized at the . Wesley Memorial Hospital in Chicago. CANDLE SNUFFERS On May 16 Mrs. Jackic Ann Forbes will celebrate her ?? birthday. Jackie is the former; Jackie Cannon. HOSPITALIZED Master Eddie Braddock, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Braddock, had his tonsils removed Monday morning at the Woodstock Memorial hospital. By the time this paper comes out, Eddie will be well on the road to good health. KIWANIS NEWS President Phil Kinzer announced with regret the death of Past President Frank Konecny. Members, Phil Kinzer, Art Lau, Joe Sullivan, Ed Heller, Bill Dicker and John Craig plan to attend an interclub with the Woodstock club and present them with the travelling gavel. The merit award dinner will be held, May 22, at the Ringwood Methodist church. CLEAN-UP There will be no clean-up in the village of Lakemoor this year. The clean-up that took place was in Lilymoor. William Dicker and Art Christopher were inducted by Joe Sullivan into the membership. William Dicker's application was approved at the director's meeting. It was reportedly a hard meeting on tape recorders as Art La Greca led the song fest. Mrs. Guy White received the battle ax award. KACHINA NEIGHBORHOOD MEETING Girl scout Neighborhood Chairman Rita.Bebber will conduct an important meeting on Wednesday, May 24 at 8 p.m. at the -Nativity Lutheran church. All parents of Girl Scouts and anyone else interested in the future of Girl Scouts in the Wonder Lake area are requested to attend this meeting. Mrs. Bebber will outline the forth coming program including the changes in this summer's day camp. Plans for the third annual house and garden walk will be discussed. Refreshments will be served after the meeting. Once again all are urged to attend. NEW ORGAN As a token of his love and esteem for the parish of Christ the King, Father James Vanderpool presented the church with a new organ as a memorial in the name of his mother, Nettie May Vanderpool. Cheryl Zelvis, a junior, has . had an article accepted by the Voice of Youth column in the Chicago tribune which will appear sometime before the end of this school year. This is the visit Judy's mother who is hospitalized. that the Wonder Lake fire department helped beautify the Robert Vanderstraeten Memorial, also fulfilling their good deeds they replaced the rope on the flag staff at the post office. that a boat stolen from the Fox Lake harbor was found abandoned in the woods by Jeff Brandt and friends. WONDER LAKE BIBLE CHURCH On May 18 there will be a building committee meeting at 7:30 p.m. The Pioneer Girls will meet at the church Friday, May 19, at 7 o'clock while the Awana Boys club meets at the Harrison school. The final examination for the Christian Truth Class will be held on Saturday, May 20. The Sunday schedule is the same but calling attention to the fact that the nursery is available at the 11 and 7 services. Wednesday, the Midweek Prayer and Praise Service and Youth Choir Rehearsal will start at 7:30 p.m. The Senior Choir Rehearsal will start at 8:30 p.m. Daily Vacation Bible School, will start June 19 to the 30. second time Cheryl has been so honored, her first article being •The End of Winter'. Winners and their teachers were given a luncheon in Chicago on May 13. Cheryl is planning on being a teacher. With all the bad publicity given our young folks today it is a pleasure to hear of the type that are in the majority but don't get enough publicity. Congratulations to the proud parents. * / CLEAN-UP AT BEACH The coming weekend has been designated for beach clean up, and mi Saturday Audrey Whitney . will be in charge of a group of children who will pick up sticks and get the area ready for John Neuharth who has generously consented to cut the grass forthe first time this season. On Sunday all available men are requested to come down with rakes and get the benches and Other equipment in order. There will be no beach roster this year due to the poor results we have had in the last years so from time to time we will try to get some willing workers to tidy up the grounds. Both of these projects will be in the morning. On Saturday Audrey will serve refreshments to the children. For the Sunday work get in touch with Gordon Hattan. In case of rain on Saturday, •What, more rain?' everything will be done on Sunday. TROUBLES AT THE HATTANS It seems that the Hattans have been having more than their share of troubles in the last few weeks. First Linda bruised her leg, and since it .was giving her quite a bit of pain was taken to the Doctor who promptly put a cast on her leg. Last week Cindy was sliding down a slide and fell off, pulled her arm out of the socket aqd will have her arm in a cast for a month. Adding to this the fact that Darlene has a new baby, she just has to be the busiest mother in the Shores. Hope things start looking up soon Dar. AROUND THE SHORES Paul Pogor made his first Holy Communion on Sunday at St. Mary's Church, after which his proud parents took the boys out for dinner and kiddie cocktails. Trent Middlekauffs nephew, Richard, and his wife arrived here from San Diego and visited a few days before taking off for Montreal to take in Expo 67. Bob Tanner and Matt Zeimet are leaving' for Fremont, Wis., tonight and will spend the weekend trying to catch some stripers. Good luck boys, try to keep from freezing. William Tennert was happy to see his daughter, Doris Hildebrandt, and her husband, Fred, who popped in on Sunday from Kinston, N. C. and stayed for a few days. While up here they went to Morton Grove and visited with old friends there. Charles and Loretta Ramage enjoyed a golden wedding anniversary part}' given at a restaurant in Antioch in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Joseph Later. Guests gathered from all over the country, some from as far away as California. On Friday evening the Ramages entertained friends, Earl and Fran Watson, who had just returned from a 3 months stay in Florida and had many stories to tell. The men are planning on putting the swings up this weekend and since new ones will one has just taken them cost $18 we hope that sorpe for the winter. If you know anything about them please call Audrey. MUNROES WELCOME GRANDDAUGHTER Pamela Munroe Vycital welcomed a little girl on April 27 and named her Jamie Lynn. She weighed 7 lbs., 15% ozs. and is as c'ute as a button. Pam and her husband are in Okinawa where her husband is stationed. Congratulations to the grandparents and the proud mother and father. CORNED BEEF DINNER The McHenry Shores Club board of directors have approved the plans for a corned beef and cabbage dinner to be held at the Johnsburg hall on June 18.
