RINGWOOD NEWS DOLORES BRENNAN 653-9045 Board President Resigns After School Meeting The Ringwood School Board of District 34 met on Wednesday evening at the school along with members of McHenry School District 15, members of the Board of Education, County School Supt. Richard Tazewell and the general public to discuss the merits of consolidation. Some very heated words were exchanged during the later part of the meeting resulting in the resignation of Darrell Everett, president of the Ringwood Board. His resignation was accepted by the remaining board members, with a special meeting called on Thursday evening and John Lanway being appointed to take Mr. Everett's place until the school consolidates or the next regular election, which ever occurs first. The regular school board election is held in April. A WORD OF WARNING! Tempers cause us to do some crazy things in this world of ours, but does the lady (the word is used loosely in this case) who called Clayton Bruce and offered a sum of money to have him change his mind on consolidation realize what the penalty is for offering a bribe to a public official? Curb your temper. Don't let it curb you! The above two articles were written by Clayton Bruce, clerk of the Ringwood School Board, and are intended to bring a little light to the community minded people in the Ringwood area. I would like to add that I did find out about the meeting and did attend. The meeting did go along very nicely with just discussion until somebody let loose causing arguing rather that discussion to take over the remainder of the meeting. It's too bad this happened, as there are bound to be hard feelings among persons in the community as a result. I guess the old saying of think before you speak should be practiced a little more. To the members of the McHenry 15 distric^who were in attendence, I would like to apologize for our community. This sort of thing does not happen, and this meeting was the exception. Thank you for attending. EUROPE '66 SLIDES PRESENTED BY JIM PEARSON On June 20, Jim Pearson presented a slide program entitled "Europe '66" to the Dunham Woman's club.
