Her selections will be "Italian Street Song" and "Tonight" from "West Side Story." $210,000 Minimum Dislricl 15 Plans Sale Of Landmark School Al Auction; Low Bid Set New Assignment In Vietnam Accepted By McHenry Man At a special meeting of School District 15, held last week, the board directed the administration to complete all arrangements to sell Landmark building at public auction in accordance with all legal requirements and others that the board qiay request, at a minimum bid price of $210,000. Sale of the building may be made at any time, but it was stipulated that the property be kept for one year. Approval was also given to proceed with bids to remodel the Landmark building so that the central administration can move into it before the beginning of the Ml term this year. The possible sale of the structure would not change these plans. In addition, bids will be accepted to remodel the kindergarten house on Waukegan road according to specifications of the architect. TEACHER'S AIDES The board also authorized the central administration to employ teachers' aides in selected class rooms to assist teachers who have an unwieldy number of pupils. The number of aides will be determined by the number of pupils in the respective grades and rooms. The employment of Maurice Eugene Little, Jr., of Keiser, Ark., as school community director for District 15 for the 1967-68 school year was approved. Contracts were signed for Miss Melanie Richards to teach special education at Valley View, Mrs. Erylene Smithey, fifth grade at Hilltop, Lester Schneider, math at Junior high and Mrs. Elaine Worth as part time physical education teacher at Junior high. Mr. Schneider formerly was a teacher at St. Mary's school. ACCEPT STUDENTS In other action, the board accepted the seventh and eighth graders from Ringwood school to attend Junior high school for the year ahead, on a tuition basis. It was also announced that District 15 will support efforts of Ringwood citizens to consolidate Ringwood District 34 with McHenry District 15. Richard Swantz, director of special projects, has filed application for Title I project for development of basic skill curriculum in grades 2 through 8 for the school year 1967-68. The amount sought is $19,080. There will be a joint meeting of Districts 15 and 156 boards on Aug. 22 in the Junior high school library to discuss future planning needs. George J. Struck of 3607 W. James street, McHenry, has joined the Agency for International Development as an automotive maintenance specialist. He will be assigned tp Nha Trang, Vietnam. The Agency for International Development administers the foreign aid program. Its underlying purpose is to help developing nations of the world help themselves by means of long range development planning. Mr. Struck formerly was employed as service manager of an auto agency in Libertyville. He and Mrs. Struck and their children, Michael, Kris andCarolly, have resided in McHenry for the past four years.
