Oak street, McHenry, celebrated their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary, which occurred Oct. 10, with a three-week trip to Europe. Their itinerary covered one city in each country as follows: Madrid, Sp|in; Athens, Greece; Rome, Italy; Lucerne, Switzerland; Munich, Germany; Copenhagen, Denmark and Paris, France. : In Sweden they called on many relatives of Mr. Benson a&l in London, England, were guests of friends. With the exception of a few train rides, the trip was entirely by plane. Bette Mae Orr, daughter of Mrs. Esther Orr, and Glenn Benson of Richmond were married Oct. 10, 1942, in the Community Methodist church and have lived in McHenry all their married life. They have three children, Jim, 21 and senior at Illinois university; Sandy, 18, employed in Chicago; and Terri, 11, in sixth grade at Edgebrook. YOUNG McHENRY MUSICIANS ARE DANCE FEATURES The first Lake Region YMCA Junior high dance at the Lakewood village tail, was greeted by the attendance of 125 boys and girls who thoroqghly enjoyed the live music of an enthusiastic group of young musicians from McHenry. The second dance of the year is slated for Friday, Nov. 10. with all seventh and eighth grade boys and girls who reside in the service area invited to attend. The doors open at 7:10 pun. and the music begins at 7:30 and concludes promptly at 10 p.m. ?)iis month's dance will feature another live group. The policy of bringing in a variety of different musical groups from the vicinity will, if met withtbe stamp of approval from tbeyouth, be continued and suggestions for groups wishing to be heard are welcomed. The dances are conducted for the enjoyment of the youth; however, certain rules of conduct are strictly followed. Dress forboth boys and girls is school apparel. Adequate adult supervision is present for the entire evening, and no youth is allowed to enter or leave the premises without parental permission between 8 and 10 p.m. Because the Lake wood village hall, 2500 W. Lake street, Crystal Lake, is located in a remote area, parents of the youth attending are requested to see that their boys and girls are picked up promptly at 10 P«Ai« Admission is free to YMCA member and non-members are admitted for a small charge for fiie evening. CHAIRMEN FOR TWELFTH ANNUAL SNOW BALL NAMED Pearl Kaester, chairman of the twelfth annual Snow Ball dance sponsored by the Lakeland Park Women's club, has appointed Arlene Bartos as chairman of decorations and posters and Lyda Radisch as ticket and publicity chairman. Miscellaneous Shower Honors Miss Freund Miss Trudy Freund was guest of honor at a recent miscellaneous shower given in the home of Mrs. Donna Mas car i, with Miss Roxanne Freund as cohostess. Thirty-five guests enjoyed the party, for which decorations were in the colors of pink and white. Miss Freund was presented with a variety of lovely gifts and a tasty lunch was served. Now a student at Eastern Illinois university, Miss Freund will become a bride later this month. Sisters Enjoy Birthday Party Saturday, Nov. 4, was a day of celebration for Ann Mary, and her sister, Ssthdra Mary, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Reese, whose birthday anniversaries occur just a few days apart. Eighteen little girls, all pupils at St. Patrick's school, were invited to enjoy the birthday cake and other treats and to play their favorite games. The honored guests received the congratulations of their great - grandmother, Marie Gorgo, of McHenry and their grandmother, Mrs. William Reese, of Woodstock. EDLA ANTONSON HOME AFTER FIVE MONTHS ABROAD Mrs. Edla Antonson has returned from a five-month trip to Sweden, three of which were spent in Stockholm. While there, she was visited by her two sons and their wives, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Antonson and son, Michael, an1 Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Antonson, who flew to Europe. After they left, she spent two months in the country with her brother and sister. Mrs. Antonson SHiJ she enjoyed the boat trip to Europe and the return trip by plane very much. She spent some time with her son and family in New Jersey, one week prior to making the trip abroad and three weeks upon her return. Besides being the majority whip in the State Senate, Senator Coulson is the elected member of the GOP State Central committee from the 12th Congressional district. The former mayor of Waukeganwas first elected to this party post in June, 1966. . Individuals under 35 who are interested in promoting the Republican party are invited. LAKELAND PARK TROOPS TO HOLD GOOD TURN DAY Boy Scout Troop 459 and Cub Pack 459 of Lakeland Park are participating in the Kish- Waukee district Good Turn Day on Saturday, Nov. 11. The Cub Scouts have distributed Good Will bags around the subdivision and the Boy Scouts will be picking the filled bags this weekend.
