They have a daughter, married and living in Woodstock, a daughter, Susan, finishing her senior year in Woodstock high school, a son, Lloyd, out of school, a son, attending the Johnsburg school, and a daughter, Laura, in first grade in Ringwood. Nice to have you in our little community! On Sunday, grandchildren, Deborah and Joe Kempfer, and friend of Genoa called on their graffafather, Frank Kempfer. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Ainger and son, David, of Hebron were callers in the home of Mrs. Ruby Shepard on Thursday. Sunday dinner guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Hawley were, Mrs. Eleanor Howe and Ed Hawley of Crystal Lake. Don't forget to fly the flag on Lincoln's birthday next Wednesday. Last Friday evening, I took Pat and Linda to McHenry high school to see the play, "The Odd Couple", presented by a new forming community theatre group in the McHenry area. It was certainly worth seeing, and I sincerely wish everyone could have joined in the laughter and sheer enjoyment of seeing such such a production. I thought every one of the actors did a superb job, and do hope they put on many more such productions. Orchids to all, who had to do with the presenting of "The Odd Couple". FEATURE SPACE AGE THEME ON TOWN HALL SERIES "Space Age 1980" is the topic featured at the next Town Hall Adventurer Lecture series this Sunday evening, Feb. 9, at 7:30 in Woodstock's Congregational Universalist church. Clinton A. Stone is director of the Astro Sciences center, Illinois Institute of Technology Research institute. Mr. Stone and his group are engaged in space program planning and mission definition studies. His work has also involved geophysical measurements during high altitude nuclear weapons tests, scientific objectives of space exploration, analysis of space missions, satellite measurements of airglow, nuclear techniques of lunar surface analysis, and space program cost studies. During this time he also served as project director for a $1.5 million field program to obtain geophysical data during the high altitude nuclear weapons test. His background also includes work on aircraft reactor shiel-*" ding studies and nuclear weapons effects at General Dynamics, Convair, San Diego and Scientific Advisor to the Union of Burma Atomic Energy Commission, Rangoon. His awareness of the political and international implications of the new space discoveries and activities, together with his wide knowledge and experience in the subject, provide illuminating and absorbing lecture material. Since he discusses this topic before many audiences he is able to make the material understandable by the layman. Jcw CHRISTIAN SCIENCE TOPIC " Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from they presence? Jim said and laughed to see Jimmy dwarfed by his chair. •And I began to wonder. When our son is ready to occupy that chair, what kind of a man will he be? Will he have integrity and a sense of responsibility for his employees? Or will he cut corners, use the people he works for--who work for him? So much depends on us. Right now, he learns of love and kindness from our voices, our hands. As he matures, our values, respect for others and concern will help to shape his attitudes. How glad I am that our Church offers a program of Christian education for Jim and me, as well as for Jimmy. As our son grows, so will we. The strength you need to meet the responsibilities of your life can be found in your church. ..... •; : V--S S r r !
