The by-law committee has presented proposed amendments and revisions to the constitution and by-laws due to the club's rapid growth. These proposed changes were read at the Jan. 27 meeting, and will be read again, discussed arid then voted on at this meeting.. Plans will be completed for the bake sale on Saturday , Feb* 15 at the McHenry State Bank from 9 a.m. to 3p.m. Members are asked to get their homemade bakery goods and candy to the bank as early as possible, but" no later than noon. Those who have not pur chased a ticket for tHe gala St. Patrick's dinner and party on March 10 should do so at once as ticket sales will have to be limited. There will be an Irish dancing program by the Mar- Ray Studio of McHenry and vocalists from Marian Central high school. The Program committee has been very busy lining up entertainment for the meetings, tryr ing to incorporate things that will be of interest to everyone. In addition to the square dancing group which practices e^ery Thursday evening, plans areunder way tp start a barber shop quartet, book review, current events group, kitchen band, dramatics group, chorus and others. The purpose of the club is taking form, as it was originated to create fellowship and good times. These various interest groups will bring folks with similar interests and hobbies closer together. A little advance information on the program for Feb. 24- Fun Night. There will be group singing led by Allen Lyndrup, who is also a one-man entertainer very accomplished with his guitar. There is to be a white elephant exchange, each member to bring a prettily, wrapped "white elephant" to be exchanged for someone else's "white elephant". Mrs. Doris Chambers, local ventriloquist, will also be on the program, giving promise of a very enjoyable and entertaining evening. Richmond Is Host Historical Society Plans Spring Meeting BENEFIT DANCE Over 1200 teen-agers from the surrounding area attended the third annual March of Dimes tjenefit dance held at the American Legion hall in Crystal Lake Jllast Sunday. These teens helped £he sponsors of the dance clear $S,000 for the March of Dimes campaign. In keeping with the McHenry County Historical society's objective of having each general meeting of the society in a different area of the county, present plans are that the spring meeting will be in Richmond. Last year, the annual meeting of the society was held in Crystal Lake, as was the summer picnic. In October, Announce Engagement I. MARIA MILLER Announcement has been made of the engagement of Miss Maria Miller, daughter of Mrs. Steven Miller of 5816 Barnard Mill road, Ringwood, to Dale Fiebelkorn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Fiebelkorn of Rt. 1, Trevor, Wis. No wedding date has been set. a very successful meeting about the Railroad Museum at Union, 111., was held in Marengo. The Spring meeting, will be held in April (date to be announced later), and will feature historic happenings in the Richmond area. Richard G. Richardson is in charge of making arrangements for the program, and details will be published when arrangements are complete. A lovely Christmas gift to the Historical Society (an evergreen wreath with perky red bow) is still hanging on the door at society headquarters. It was given to the Historical society by Loren Thompson of Thompson road, Woodstock, in memory of his mother, Cora Carr Thompson. She and her grandparents, Matha and Sarah Clark Carr, arrived in Ringwoc& J in the year 1831, coming Miss Brannock On Deans List At St. Teresa Miss Jane Brannock, a sophomore at the College of Saint Teresa, Winona, Minn., is one of eighty-eight students named to the Dean's list for the first semester. Miss Brannock, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kennis Brannock, 1020 Chesterfield court, McHenry, earned an honor point average of 2.75. The highest possible average to be earned is 3. Miss Brannock is a graduate of St. Seholastica high school, Chicago. from Yorkshire England. They were among the very earliest residents of McHenry county. Because of its sheltered location on the recessed door of the Historical society headquarters, the wreath is still in beautiful condition. Another recent gift to the Historical society was from Mrs. H. E. Schrader, of Dexter, Oregon, who was formerly of Crystal Lake. She sent a box containing. several items, among which was the wedding dress of her mother, Mrs. Bertha Seebert Hawley, and some very old and interesting Christmas tree ornaments. These, and many other items of historic interest can be se§rt at the Historical society headquarters in Woodstock. READING EXPERT HOME AND SCHOOL GUEST FEB. 11 St. Patrick's Home and School association will hold its meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 8 p.m. in the church hall. Guest speaker will be Sister Mary Rosa of St. Xavier's, Chicago, who is the reading consultant for the Sisters of Mercy. Her topic will be "Methods of Modern Reading", for which she will use ten local school children to demonstrate this method. Everyone is urged to attend and also bring along a friend or two. A special invitation is extended to the men. Refreshments will be served by Mrs. Mary Ann Sharp and her third grade room committee. Janet Hansen Is Married To Daniel Jamieson Big brother played the role of Cupid in a romance which culminated in marriage for Miss Janet Marie Hansen and Mr. Daniel Stuart Jamieson last Saturday, Feb. 1, in St. John the Baptist Catholic church, Johnsburg, at 3 p.m. The former Miss Hansen is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David R. Hansen, 1813 S. Fernwood lane, McHenry, and the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Jamieson, 5015 Westwood drive, McHenry. Lance Corporal Mark Hansen, U.S.M.C., now stationed in Vietnam, was responsible for introducing the two young people. Yellow and white spider mums banked the altar as the Rev. John Dording officiated at the double ring ceremony. Escorted by her father, the former Miss Hansen was radiant in a floor length gown of white alencon lace over taffeta. A scalloped stand-up collar set off her features. A chapel train fell in soft folds over the Aline skirt. The Empire bodice was covered with crystals and ^eed pearls,, and the long beeves of the dress ended in points at the wrist. Her silk illusion veil was held in place with a tiny crown of lace, also embroidered with pearls and crystals. The bridal bouquet was fashioned of one dozen garnet roses, phalaenopsis orchids and stephanotis in cascade. Kathleen Doran served as maid of honor, with Maria Fisher and Diana Evans, all of McHenry, as bridesmaids. The bride's tiny sister, Jill Hansen, was a pretty flower girl. All wore floor length gowns of avocado brocade and,, featured jackets of gold and chartreuse. The three young women carried white muffs adorned with spider mums of yellow and white. The flower girl carried a basket of yellow spider mums. John Hiller was best man and Bill Raffetto and A1 White were groomsmen. The mother of the bride wore a street length frock of silver and green brocade, matching accessories and a corsage of green cymbidium orchids. Mrs. Jamieson was attired in a three-piece suit of pale yellow which featured a beaded shell, matching accessories and a corsage of orchids. The V.F.W. home, McHenry, was the scene of the wedding reception for 250 invited guests. The bridal table was enhanced with a three-tiered wedding cake trimmed in yellow and topped with a bridal couple in miniature. Following the reception, the newly wedded couple departed for an undisclosed destination, „somewhere in the South. The new Mrs. Jamieson is a graduate of McHenry high school, class of '67, and is employed as a private secretary for City Products, Des- Plaines. TTie groom graduated from Marian Central high school, Woodstock, class of'65, attended Wisconsin State university, Platteville, and is serving as a lineman for Commonwealth Edison Co. St. John's avenue, Johnsburg, announce the engagement of their daughter, Bonnie, to William Kuechel, sonof Mr. and Mrs. William Kuechel of Sunnyside Estates. Bonnie is a 1967 graduate of McHenry high school and is now employed in Crystal Lake. Her fiance graduated in 1968 from McHenry high school and is attending Western Illinois university in Macomb. No date has been set for the wedding. County Players Mark Birthday This month the Town Square Players, the adult acting groiq? of the Woodstock Fine Arts association, will mark its first anniversary with its first production of 1969 at the Woodstock Opera House. This enterprising and talented group comes from all parts of McHenry county and gained acting experience or furthered their knowledge with one-act workshops and two major productions during their 1968 season. A musical, "No, No, A Million Times No", and the enduring comedy, "You Can't Take It With You", were enjoyed by the community and surrounding areas. The play now in rehearsal is a change of pace, mysterydrama, "Web of Murder", by Jonathan Troy. It will be held Friday, Feb. 14, and Saturday, Feb. 15, and Saturday, Feb. 122 and Sunday, Feb. 23. Curtain time is 8 p.m. Woman's Club The February meeting of the McHenry Woman's club will be held Feb. 14 at 1 o'clock, at Zion Lutheran church. Mrs. Calvin Stineman will be tea hostess. A very interesting program, "Treasure Chest of Sewing," will be presented by Columnist Lorene Wennerstrom, author of "Strictly Sewing". Mrs. Wennerstrom teaches dress designing and appears regularly on the Lee Phillip T. V. show. She will show her unusual ^c^llection of handmade gifts, and present each woman in the audience with a booklet containing instructions on how to make the items. Club members are reminded to bring a cake and card tables to the V.F.W. hall between 9 and 11 a.m. on Wednesday, the twelfth, for the library benefit card party to be held that day at 12:30.
