That's only to see if you* re paying attention! The nominating committee members are Petey Qakford, 385-5334; Vicky Bottari, 385-2262 and Marie Cross, 385-7823. Elections will be held at ttife April meeting. The big item on the agenda for Woman's club right now is the annual spring luncheon which will be held at the American Legion on Wednesday, April 16. Each year the gals surpass themselves as to the variety of culinary delights offered to tempt the palate. As always cards will follow. Tickets will be on sale soon and all members will have them. Ticket chairman is Lyda Radisch. In years past reservatiPOS. have , been taken In advance for business people who wished to attend the luncheon but were on a schedule to Return to work. Mark the affair on your calendar now so- that you won't miss an extremely good time. COMMUNITY HOUSE SCHEDULE All bookings and cancellations for the community house are to made in advance by calling 385-2728. It has been asked that all persons booking the community house make an effort to arrive at the time designated so as not to keep Mr. Thilges waiting any longer than necessary. Saturday, March 8 - Tri- County Five Watters - 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 10 - Lakeland Merry Makers 4-H Club - 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 11 - Boy Scout meeting - 7 to 9 Wednesday, March 12 - Scout meeting - 3:30 to p.m. Tuesday, March 18 Scout meeting - 7 to 9 Wednesday, March 19 - Scout meeting - 3:30 to p.m. Regular LPPOA Board meeting 8 p.m. LPPOA NEWS NOTES The annual general meeting with election of board members is slated for Sunday, April 13, at 2 p.m. at the community house. Four new board members are to be selected at this time. Nominations for the election are being taken by the nominating committee to fill the vacancies. In order to be eligible a nominee must be a member in good standing with no dues outstanding. Members of the nominating committee are Nedra Eckhart, 385-1308; Joe Leone, 385-4405; Bill Schabow, 385-2717; and Martin Spoto, 385-7149. Absentee ballots will be available to those who need them on April 11 from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mrs. Eckhart, 5215 Willow Lane, will have them. p.m. Girl 5:30 Boy p.m. Girl 5:30 4-H NEWS The Lakeland Merry Makers 4-H Club held their meeting on Feb. 24 at 7:30 p.m. Tom Erber led us in the pledges. Carol Curren gave the secretary's report. Larry Fergen gave the treasurer's report and Tom Erber gave the federation report. Business: Karen Fergen gave a report on the Share-The-Fun committee. The next meeting for Share-The-Fun will be on March 3. The next baking meeting is on March 4 at Mrs. Harris's house. We will have a roller skating party on March 6 from 7 to 10 p.m. These people are to give demonstrations for the next meeting; Lori Backhaus, Robin Haymes, Carol Cur ran and Dave Briemer. The meeting was adjourned by Diane Muskovin and seconded by Colleen Godina. We then had a contest between the parents and the members. Larry Fergen and Kelvin Schultz asked questions. The members won and they were three points ahead of the parents. Your 4-H reporter, Colleen Godina. GIRL SCOUT TROOP 320 Feb. 26. The meeting was opened with the flag ceremony and the pledge to the flag. Patrols were formed to take dues and attendance and treats were seryed. The troop sang happy birthday to Ann Sullivan who served candy bars in honor of her birthday. Mrs. Hafer, the cookie chairman, came to the meeting and passed out the cookie sheets and explained them. Cookie orders were to be taken from Feb. 27 through March 6. The cookies will be delivered between April 18 and 27. We hope to sell lots of cookies so that we can have fun with our troop profit. The troop attended the thinking day program which was a surprise party for Mrs. Engh. Troop 464 would like to collect a variety of Brownie uniforms so that each girl can have a uniform. They can be for sale, trade or donated. Please call Mrs. Hansen at 385-5787. RIGHT UP YOUR ALLEY The couples league bowled their last evening of regular competition last Saturday night. The next bowling evening scheduled is on March 22 and will be position night. The Nippies are in first place with 37%-18% followed by the Klik in second with 33-23. The Bugs are ninth with 25- 31 and the Pandas and Jack's Team have 24-32 each for a tenth place tie. The Er-Ki-Gr- Ke has a firm hold on the cellar with 19%-36& It was all for fun anyway, wasn't it? BIRTHDAY GREETINGS Our very best birthday wishes to two nice gals, Dolores Rogers and Ann Wohnrade, who celebrate their birthdays on March 7. A1 Dietz and Ann Herzog are birthday people on the eighth. Bill Knor and Cynthia Bargo will each be eight years old on the ninth and Mike Mai will be eleven the same day. Christopher Laurence will celebrate on the eleventh. Barbara Tiffany will be fifteen on the eleventh too. Ronny Rebel will be twelve on the twelfth and Kevin Lavin will be seventeen. Jim ,Hahn celebrates on the twelfth or thirteenth but don't know which as he's,down,twice. So double birthday cake! SYMPATHY Our very deepest sympathy is extended to Edna Hountras on the passing of her husband, Tom, last week. He was a well liked member of our community for many years and his many friends will miss him. We also offer our condolences to Barb Meurer and her family on the untimely passing of her brother-in-law last week at the age of 36. STROLLING THROUGH v THE PARK The kids being closer to the ground than anyone and optimists to the last any way are clueing us in to the fact that spring just might be on its way. The kites have been studding the sky for the last week or so and some of the stores have sold out their supplies already. After talking to Jo Rizzo last week about her tulips poking through the ground, I ventured out and lo and behold! etc. there were some daffodil shoots and a few shy tulips in my own little flowpr patch. It's almost pussy willow time too and this year Pm going to get some come that place or high water. Hope it's neither, I'd rather have the pussy willows. Charlotte and Bill Frazier went to the ice show last week with the group from Christ the King church that always rents a bus. Sure beats the traffic. The Meyers family has been busy celebrating anniversaries and birthdays lately but don't have details so can't print them. See you next week. Registrations are not closed it just makes it more convenient to have a single mass registration. COMPLETE COURSE William Moats and Gerald Danko of Murison Marine, Inc., Volo, have qualified as factorytr& ined outboard rcfechanics, following completion of a training course at the Fond du Lac Service School of Kiekhaefer Mercury, a division of the Brunswick Corporation, manufacturer of Mercury outboard motors. The course included daily instruction periods supplemented by actual bench practice, blackboard sessions, group discussions and examinations. LINCOLN CLOVERLEAF The Lincoln Clover leaf club met on March 3, at Val Mar recreation house. We talked about 4-H activities around our area. Cindy Bye gave a talk on. the parts of a dog, and Bruce. Van Bur en gave a talk on the parts of an engine. Twelve members attendedthe meeting. We would be more than happy to have new members at our next fleeting on April 7.
