PLAINDEALER PHOTO | BOY SCOUT & NEWS TROOP 162 The hard work and time spent in preparing our Scout-O-Rama display paid off in a blue ribbon which the boys are very pVoud of. Our display this year was on Aviation and Weather. Bob Decker, Kerry Decker and Jim Cole worked on gliders for the display. Scott Wiggerman had a rubber-powered model. Greg Schmitt brought some models he had made. Allen Cuia, with the assistance of his father, George Cina, had great gaspowered models for the display. Gary Boehm and Kevin Do ran, with the help of their father, John Boehm, had some well made U-control planes. Mike and Steve Wolf brought a rocket to display. The Wolf boys did an excellent job building the weather station that was on display. Also working hard were the many Scouts who sold tickets in advance, helped set up the booths, as well as arranging our own display. The Scouts also manned the display, explaining about the airplanes, weather instruments and maps. They passed out souvenir records of the actual airline pilot's conversation to his crew and air traffic controllers on a trip from Chicago to Philadelphia. They gave out balions to the smaller children. Dean Cunat took an entire day to drive to Camp Lowden, where he had to load the wood himself and get it back in time for the booths to be built. Mr. Cunat also spent Sunday driving back to Camp Lowden to return all the wood, this time with the assistance of his son, John, and Mike Troka. John Boehm and Bob Decker, along with seventeen boys from our troop, after school Friday had unloaded the wood and did the majority of work in setting up the booths so they were ready for decorating when the outof- town troops arrived in the evening. In addition to the work of the Scout-O-Rama, during the dinner break, John Boehm, Bob Decker and the senior patrol built a fire and prepared atrial dinner of the food that will be cooked at the Galena camp-out. After several mishaps the meal was served and in true Scout fashion everyone ate it except Boehm's cat. He absolutely refused. The cook-out took place in Boehms' back yard, but we are throwing our vote to Mrs. Boehm for the best cook in the family. The leaders assure us all the problems have been solved and the food served at Galena will be delicious. All boys going on the Galena trip are reminded that the bus will be leaving at 6 a.m. Saturday. It should return about 4 on Sunday afternoon Jim Cole, Public Relations ooooooooooooooooooa SERVICE NEWS Third Marine divisions, the Wing supports other U.S. and Allied forces operating in the five northernmost provinces of the republic. The only thjgg thaf s lacking are the funds to maintain the work in the local chapter. Quota in the various towns of the county have slipped and the towns of Crystal Lake, Cary and Fox River Grove, where the United Fund has its campaign for various organizations, have not reached their usual contributions. The county quota is $29,000. The amount sent in to the local chapter, mostly from individuals, is $8,740 so people who haven't sent their contribution letters back should do so at once in order to help the American Red Cross help the men in Vietnam and their ' families in the time of emergency or real crisis. NjAY 27 O.E.S. Stated Meeting and Memorial Service, 8 p.m., Acacia Hall. It costs $9.75 to give Red Cross services to each American serviceman in Vietnam for one year. A $48.75 contribution would provide for five men in Vietnam. PERSONALS Mr. and Mrs, Alex J.
