Fairway, McHenry, was commissioned a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army Reserve in ceremonies Sunday, June 1, at Creighton university. Leisten will serve in the Armor branch when ordered to active duty. Maj. Gen. William J. Sutton of Washington, D.C., chief of the Army Reserve, was the principal speaker for the afternoon commissioning ceremony. Those commissioned have completed the four-year Reserve Officer Training corps program. They were also candidates for degrees at Creighton' s spring commencement exercises Monday. Col. Levene J. Weigel, professor of military science, presented the commissions. Relatives were invited to pin the gold bar of a second lieutenant on the new officers' uniforms.
