STROLLING THROUGH THE PARK Since only a few days have elapsed since the last column was written there is a real shor tage of news this week. Anyway , happy Fourth to all. Jill and Julie Leopold cel ebrated their second birthday on June 22 with the help of a house ful of relations from both sides of the family. An outdoor bash was planned, but the weather man forgot to be nice, as is normal on weekends lately, and they adjourned to the parlor and other under-cover spots. Debbie McCarthy was the hostess for an afternoon get- together for her cousin, Wen dy Tenhagen, who was visiting Debbie last week. She lives in Burlington, Wis. Pam Irwin of Tltusville, Fla., was also at the party. She and her fam ily used to live on Lake view Avenue before moving to Flor ida several years ago. Holly Koehl and Cathy Humam com pleted the gathering. Renee Plucinski was a mighty proud little gal last week af ter catching a two pound haas in McCullom Lake. The piscat orial speciman measured six teen inches and was lured out of the/ briny deep by a nice iuicy hightcrawler. LAKELAND PARK NEWS Carole Humana 38 .VI806 SCRIBE LOOKS FORWARD TO JULY FOURTH Here's to a great Fourth of July weekend for each and every one of you. With luck the weath er just could be great, and then again... But at least June with its lousy weekends for the year 1969 is over and done with. With the spectacular fireworks dis plays presented in the area it isn't necessary for an individual to celebrate with a bang any more. The dogs in the neigh borhood prefer it that way too. Anyway have a good time and don't run out of mustard. COMMUNITY HOUSE SCHEDULE All bookings and cancel lations for the community house must be made in advance by calling Jo Rizzo at 385-2728. Father John Strazalka, Pastor Here in America no one tells you that you have to ' work. Of course, when you do, you and your family enjoy self-respect as well as material benefits. No one tells you, either, when or how you must play. But, when you take time for occasional recrea tion, you become refreshed, alest and raady /w work. And no one tells you that you must worship the Lord, your God, regularly. But, when you do, you and your family are immeasurably blessed. His mercy and loving-kindness will embrace your life. Knowledge of His infinite goodness and confi dence in His eternal vigilance and love will sustain you at all times. These blessings, and more, are yours so long as you keep alive the glorious American privileges of freedom to work, play and worship as you choose. privilege Copyright 1969 Scripture» selected by the American Bible Society Psalms Psalms Psalms Galatians 78:56-72 84 91 1:11-24 Galatians 2:1-10 Acts 13:1-12 Acts 13:13-25 CHAIN OIAKES EVANGELICAL COVENANT CHURCH 4815 N.
