I CHURCH HOLDS OPEN SESSION ON EDUCATION Members and friends inter­ ested in helping to lay the ground work for the Christian Ed­ ucation program of the First United Methodist church of Mc­ Henry were present at 8 o'clock Thursday evening at the church. Mrs. M. David Cain, chairman, Rev. Raymond L. White, direct- u-ing^Rastor, Rev. David E.Scott, k associate pastor, and Mrs. Da­ vid E. Scott were present as re­ source persons. Plans include team teaching, two church school opportun­ ities. mentally handi capped class and other items which may prove; to be important and helpful tp members of the Mc- Henry community. New ideas, creative confrontations and in­ creased participation are goals for giving every person involved a clearer and growing exper­ ience of Christian living. Walter Infant Is Christened The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold E.. Walter was chris­ tened Kevin John in a baptis­ mal service which took place at Zion Evangelical Lutheran church during 10:30 a.m. ser­ vice Sunday, July 6, with Rev. Herman Graef officiating. Sponsors for the baby were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Eising of Wonder Lake, friends of the family. A gathering was held later ft the Waited home in Cooney Heights, where a dinner was served to brother, David, and sisters, Linda and Debra, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Eising and daughters, Mary and Laurie, and Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Dow- ell. Unable to attend were the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Eshoo, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Garr of Chicago. FRI. JULY 18, 1969 - PLAINDEAlER- PG. 3 NV NCY ELBERSEN Nancy Elbersen, 77, of 4604 Seneca drive, Wonder Lake, died July 15 in Memorial hos­ pital, Woodstock.* Mrs. Elbersen was born in Holland, Netherlands, March 14, 1892. Her husban<|, John, preceded her in death. She is survivied by two sons, William of Ring- wood and Gerald of Wonder Lake; also one grandchild. Funeral services were con­ ducted at 2 o'clock Thursday in Nativity Lutheran church, with Rev. Thomas Johnson of Crystal Lake officiating. Inter­ ment was in Greenwood cem­ etery. Prior to that time the body rested at the Schneider- Leucht-Merwin-Cooney funeral home. MISS PEANUT DEADLINE Parents are remir.ued that Saturday, July 19 is the dead­ line to enter their daughters in the Kiwanis-sponsored Little Miss Peanut contest. All girls between the ages of 6 and 8 years and who reside in the McHenry high school district Memorial contributions may be sent to Nativity Lutheran church. s ' are eligible. Rev. Raymond L. White and David E. Scott share in the projected plans for exper­ imental worship services and planned learning experiences in close connection with monthly activities for regualr partic­ ipants.
