Come and join the fun, everyone welcome. SP/4 MAY HONORED IN VIETNAM Sp/4 William May who is a mechanic with the 34th Eng. Bn. Co. D was honored by be­ ing presented "Mechanic of the Month" award of his company. ' For this achievement he was also given a $50 U.S. Savings Bond and a three-day R & R. Congratulations Billy. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred May, 8021 Bliven street. ENJOY CALIFORNIA TRIP Mr. and Mrs. Greg Kattner and Mr. and Mrs. LeqDietz of Libertyville spent two weeks vacationing out west. They tour- , ed Disneyland and visited the Dietz's daughter Betty in New Mexico. LCWC ' , The last meeting of* the Lo­ tus Country Woman's £lubyear 1968-1969 was held at the home of Mrs. John Horak with Mrs. Harriet Olson as co-hostess. The card party and luncheon held at Hunter Country Club was very well attended. The club wishes to thank all who helped make this a success. A board meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Frank Heineman and programs and projects for the coming year were dis­ cussed. Mrs. Heineman report­ ed that she had attended the State Federation meeting in Chicago. A special meeting was held at Hunter)CQHfrtry club with a one o'clock' luncheon. Many members were present. The programs and projects for the coming year 1969-1970 planned at the board meeting were ap­ proved by the members. Meet­ ing place for the coming year will be the village hall, Spring Grove. Officers for the comiî year were installed with a colorful ceremony directed by Mrs. Donald Gerlich. Officers and out-going officers were pre­ sented a carnation. Mrs{ Pau­ line Horak substituted as re­ cording secretary for Mrs. Roy Todd who was on vacation. Mrs. Donald Gerlich from Wonder Lake is a past president of the Eleventh District. CLUBS The birthday club met at the home of Mrs. Mary Klein on Tuesday afternoon. Those re­ ceiving prizes in cards were Minnie Pierce, Virginia Gilles­ pie, Mary Klein and Frances Busch. Frances Shotliff was hostess * ' L to the five hundred club. Pri­ zes went to Minnie Pierce, Em­ ma May, Mary Klein, Evelyn May and Tillie May. Members of her club met at the home of Mrs. Evelyn Freund in Antioch on Thursday night. A dessert lunch was served and cards were played. Winners of prizes were Emma Kattner, Frances Prosser and Christina Britz. LIBRARY NOTES St. Peter's parish library will be closed through the month of August because of vacations. It will reopen in September with a larger selection of books. A donation of three hundred books on the adult level were recently donated by St. Col- umbkille Commercial School of Chicago. Library registration for parishioners is free. To date there are eighty-five reg­ istrations. ' KATHY BLAKE MARY LARKIN THERESA KOLENO EXTEND LICENSE DEADLINE The Secretary of State's of­ fice has announced that o the deadline for displaying new truck plates has been extended 1$rom midnight, July 15, to mid­ night, July 31. NURSE GRADUATES -- Among twelve grad­ uates in the fortieth class of St. Therese School of Nursing, Waukegan, were three young McHenry ladies. They are Kathy Blake, daugh­ ter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Blake, Mary Larkin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Lar- kin, and Theresa Koleno, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Koleno. This will be the last graduating class from the school. Kathy is employed at Harvard hospital and Theresa and Mary are at McHenry hospital.
