FAREWELL PICNIC -- Staff members and res­ idents at Valley Hi Nursing home gave a fare­ well picnic for Mr. and Mrs. Howard Nehlig and their family just before they left early this month for his new position at Rock Island. SEPT. 12, 1969 Rally Day At Women Of The Moose The Sept. 2 meeting of Me- Henry Chapter, No. 1348 was called to order by Senior Re­ gent Carolyn Sima. Our speaker for the evening was Mrs. Dorothy Johnson, county editor for the Wood­ stock Daily Sentinel, who spoke on "Public Relations and the Newspaper". After the fourfold declara­ tion, enrollment was held for Theresa Arroyo, who was spon­ sored by Polly Licastro. Bal­ loting was then held for can­ didates for membership. Co-workers are invited to Star Recorder Night At Des- Plaines Chapter 835 on Oct. 23 at 8 p.m. It is formal and RSVP.so get in touch with Re­ corder Gloria Flannigan if you would like to attend. The state convention of the Loyal Order Of Moose and the annual conference of the Wo­ men Of The Moose will be held in the Conrad Hilton hotel, Sept. 19 through Sept. 21. The Harvey, Illinois chapter will be host for this event. Christmas In October is com­ ing to our chapter on Oct. 7. This is the night co-workers bring a gift for both Moose- heart andMoosehaven. The gifts are then taken, unwrapped, to Mooseheart, where they will be sorted by age and sizes and then wrapped. Entertainment plan­ ned for this meeting will be a fresh meat demonstration giv­ en with the co-operation of a Fox Lake food store. Bowlers are still needed to fill the mixed league that bowls on Wednesday evenings at Tom- asello's. Anyone interested should leave their name at the lodge. Wednesday, Sept. 10, is the starting date of the workshop, in preparation for our Fun Fair. Co-workers are asked to bring their needles, thread and scis­ sors; pack a lunch, and join us at 10 a.m. at the lodge. A bus trip to Chnatown is in the planning stage. The Dec. 16 meeting will be the night of our Christmas dinner, so plan to come and bring a gift for the grab bag. The Publicity committee is in charge of entertainment and refreshments for the month o: September and I would like to thank the women who helped be­ fore, during, and after the meet­ ing. A special thanks goes to Mrs. Johnson, who stepped in at the last minute to substi- tue for our scheduled speaker. Marge Nolan would have re­ ceived the attendance award if she had been present, and the special award went to Mabel Thomas. We will have enrollment at our next meeting on Sept. 16.
