VILLAGE MEETING The regular village council meeting was held last Thursday at the community house coun cil chambers. The annual MFT Audit was presented and ac cepted by the board. Hie san itary and building inspectors turned in their reports on a- bandoned homes. President Hy att informed the board that ar rangements had been made for snow plowing this winter. The drug abuse program will be held in the council room this Thursday, Oct. 16, at 8 p.m. All residents are invited to at tend this program. Joseph Sar- ley was re-appointed to serve on the Lakemoor zoning board of appeals. DOGS RUNNING LOOSE Pat Morrison, village clerk, has received several calls a- bout the dogs running loose. Those dogs running loose in Lakemoor will be picked up. Owners of the dogs will be is sued a ticket and those other dogs where the owner cannot be traced will be impounded. Gill of Tin- ley Park, newly elected state president of the American Le gion auxiliary, Department of Illinois, has just announced completion of a schedule of twenty workshops on the pro grams and procedures of the American Legion auxiliary. The following members of the American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 491, McHenry, will attend the workshop to be held Oct. 19 at Woodstock. Delegates Ev elyn Osmon, Cecelia Violett, Doris Walker, Dorothy Miller (Gold Star) and Betty Lingen- felter; alternates, Betty Lou Smith, Marie Howe, Pat Bor- covan, Lydia Fenner and Marie Diedrich. The purpose of these work shops is to present personally first hand information on the specific programs planned for the administrative year of 1969- 70 to the more than 73,000 members of the auxiliary throughout the state. The theme of this year's membership pro gram is "Service Women On The New Frontier" A county meeting was held-' on Oct. 3 at Crystal Lake. Those who attended were pres ident Pearl Cooper, Lauretta Homo, Marge Mikota and Ruth Mrachek. Highlights of the eve ning included the department caravan. District installation will be held Oct. 11 at Elm- hurst, at which time Mrs. Geor ge (Ruth) Mrachek will be in stalled as district president. There will be a joint installa tion with the 11th district, De partment of Illinois. De partment President Mrs. Char les Gill will be at Huntley on April 1, 1970, for "pot-luck" meeting. All units are asked to donate to Mrs. Charles Shaw, who is national rehabilitation chair man, toward the courtesy fund, its purpose, travelling for good will for the state of Illinois. The November county meeting will be held in Cary.
