J Twenty Luther Leagues At College Day A group of approximately twenty Luther Leaguers from the youth group at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran church, 404 North Green street, Mc- Henry, attended a youth visi tation day at Wartburg college, Waverly, Iowa, recently. Wartburg college is one of twelve institutions of higher learning owned and operated by the American Lutheran church. The youth visitation day spon sored by the college offered an opportunity for the high school age people to see the col lege campus, attend a plane tarium show and musical pro ductions, and participate in a lawn barbecue and the viewing of a college football game. The program for the day was scheduled in such a manner that students could visit with col lege professors from various fields of learning and inquire as to registration procedures for entering college, as well as gain information on scholar ships which are available. Those accompanying the group on the college visitation day included Mrs. Rose Jensen, William Pinkonsly, Sr., and Pastor Roger Schneider. L R D B T D N E Broadway Hit New Offering Of County Players ' The Townsquare Players are energetically rehearsing for their current production the Broadway smash-hit musical "Fiorelk/', to be given on Nov. 7 and 8, 15 and 16. Director Don Barden and musical di rector Jean O'Hare are work ing hard with the talented play ers to bring Woodstock Opera House audiences a night of theater they will long remem ber. "Fiorello" has all the in gredients of a modern mus ical: the songs and the dances, the costumes and sets. Yet is essentially a simple loving por trait of a man who is dedicated to the people around him. It is this very simplicity which is perhaps the greatest virtue of the production, achieving a ten der intimacy which is rare in the American theater. Tickets may be purchased from the county-wide Town- square Player group or res ervations and information may be obtained by calling Robert Carr, president. Group dis counts are available. Curtain time is 8 p.m. fP ERSONALS Mr. and Mrs. James McAn- drews and family were recent visitors in Dubuque, la., where they visited their son, Patrick, a freshman at Loras college.
