The first, second aiid third grades maybe the stars of the show but be hind the scenes, children of all ages have been busy making angel wings, bows, animals and even the town of Bethlehem. The children will tell the story of Christ's coming, using St. Luke's Gospel. The mem orable event will come to life as they portray, in tableau form, how they see that very first Christmas Day. This program would have been impossible without the able and talented assistance of tea cher aides who found they have skills they never knew they pos sessed. Sister Mary Kathleen has directed the tableau scenes and costumes, Mrs. Jamieson and Mrs.. Sharp put their mu sical skills to work to polish the musical score and Mrs. Toepper and Mrs. Nibbio have MCHENRY PLMNDEALER A (HH0{enry C^PlalnJeaL Phone 385-0170 Established 1875 3812 West Elm Street McHenry, Illinois 60050 Published Every Wednesday & Friday at McHenry, Illinois Second Class Postage Paid at McHenry, Illinois by McHENRY PUBLISHING COMPANY Larry E. The jolly saint in the red suit appeared on the stage of West campus auditorium last Saturday and Sunday nights, and at intermission of the program in progress presented candy to well over 200 youngsters, who then joined him in song. He can be seen again in the city park almost any day un til the big holiday, always with a big smile for the trusting little ones who approach him with requests. If there is little other reward, certainly Santa and all his help ers receive the most important gift of all in the love he re ceives from little children. County Board Approves Valey Hi Expansion (Continued from page 1) board, which then required a three-fourths vote for the pet- tition to be allowed. Supervisor Walter Dean of McHenry said that for the pur pose of clarification he would suggest the board vote on the affirmative issue, "Should the petition be approved?" Mr. Dean stated that his own po sition was in opposition to the pit, but he jfelt presentation in this manner would prevent con fusion. The vote was fifteen in favor of approval, nine nega tive and two passed. McHen- ry*s three assistant super visors, Edward Buss, Charles "Chuck" Weingart and Thomas Huemann, voted approval. The county zoning board had recommended that the gravel pit be allowed. In other business, the board gave assurance that the coun ty will receive adequate am bulance service after the first of next year. Their action was taken on a recommendation of the sheriffs and Civil Defense committees. The additional vehicles need ed to adequately serve the entire county will be in the form of five station wagons purchased by the sheriffs department to replace squad cars. They will be used in conjunction with reg ular ambulance services, and in some cases rescue squads. A schedule of suggested ser vices for each community was distributed to each supervisor, together with the names and phone numbers of cooperating services. McHenry, McCullom Lake and Lakemoor are scheduled to be served by Northwest Ambu lance, AA Official Ambulance and one of the sheriffs station wagons on highway patrol. Available to Wonder Lake and Ringwood communities will be AA Official Ambulance, North west Ambulance, Wonder Lake rescue squad ambulance and the sheriffs station wagon. Northwest, A.A .
