MOTOR FUEL PAYMENT Counties in Illinois have been allocated a total of $4,073,556 as their share of the Motor Fuel Tax paid into the state treasury during November. Confirmation Class Inducted In Luther League The eighth grade confir­ mation class at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran church, 404 North Green street, McHenry, will be inducted into the Lu­ ther League of the parish at a special weekend winter retreat to be held at Lutherdale Bible camp, Elkhorn, Wis., from Jan. 30 through Feb. 1. The thirty-one members of the class will attend the week­ end retreat along with other high school age youth in the Luther League, or youth group, in the parish. Schneider. Two Drivers Are Charged In Complaints A complaint has been filed in Circuit court in which Charles J. Hollenbach of Mc­ Henry charges that on Friday, Nov. 21, Alan J. Phalin of 4307 W. South street, McHen­ ry, committed the offense of reckless driving. Bond was set at $500. John R. Cong don of 4817 Rt. 12, Richmond, has been charged with the offense of driving with­ out a valid license Indictments Returned By Grand Jury The grand jury returned sev­ eral indictments this past week. Richard N. Donkel, Daniel W. Metropulos and Christopher Metropulos of Crystal Lake and Lawrence McHale of Woodstock were charged with syndicated gambling and three other counts of gambling. Donald Williams of 8703 W. Sunset, Wonder Lake, was charged with burglary and theft at the John Long residence, Wonder Lake. Russell E. Redner of Poplar Grove, burglary and two counts of theft. Tony J. Bozeman, Wauconda, burglary and theft at Mark's Cycle Sales, Woodstock. Gary Smith and Andy Stout, both of Island Lake, and Sun- nie Williams, Cary, burglary and theft at Spotlight Grocery, Cary. Gilbert G. Montez, Marengo, burglary and theft at Richard Pfaffinger residence, Marengo. Thomas James Moses and Donald Raymond Baumhardt, Skokie, burglary of Nye drug store. Charles J. Pits, 1811 Wood- lawn Park, McHenry, theft of car belonging to Ed Buss. Welsh Ruled Incompetent; Trial Averted Gary Welsh, who was charged with the murder of a three- year-old Harvard girl in the early 'sixties, has been judged incompetent for the sec­ ond time and returned to Elgin State hospital. Welsh spent a number of years in Menard and then one year in Elgin State hospital. He was returned to McHenry recently to stand trial for mur­ der. At another hearing, he was ruled incompetent. The Easter Seal Women's auxiliary of McHenry county continues its drive for new members under the direction of the membership chairman, Mrs. Eugene O'Brien of Wood­ stock. The recent membership tea sponsored by the auxiliary re­ sulted in eleven new members bringing the total membership to approximately 150 members from across the county. This was disclosed by Mrs. O'Brien at a meeting of the auxiliary held at the home of Mrs. B.B. Neuchiller last week. The auxiliary Is the working unit of the Easter Seal and is comprised of volunteers who are willine to srive of their time to help in projects that finan­ cially benefit the Easter Seal ^Therapy center. Another project that has been in operation each year is the super re-sale held the last three years in Crystal Lake. Plans and work have alreaday started for next year's re-sale and a colorful gemmed mirror was on display at the meeting. The frame set with precious jewels encircled with a strand of pearls is an attractive conversation piece for the most fastidious person. Also a project that has been most rewarding include the bridge flights that have until this year been under the direc­ tion of Mrs. William Tittle of Woodstock. Mrs. Howard Fied- elman who took over the chair­ manship presented Mrs. Tittle with an Easter Seal charm bra­ celet at the meeting in appre­ ciation of her work-in the aux­ iliary. The gift was^from the membership. Mrs. Joe Conerty is chair­ man of the annual Christmas party sponsored by the auxil­ iary for those who are helped through therapy, both physical and speech and are cared for at the Therapy center.
