James Morris Claims Bride In Texas Rite The First Baptist church of Odessa, Texas, was the setting for a beautiful wedding on Dec. 22 when Miss Kendra Kaye Yeakey of 2119 Pagewood, Odessa, daughter of the Ken- nith Yeakeys of 2119 Pagewood, Odessa, became the bride of Mr. James Edward Morris, son of Mrs. Monica M. Morris of 5222 Orchard drive, McHenry. Dr. John Rasco officiated at the 7 p.m. nuptial rite. Decorations included an al­ tar banked with two white col­ umns and pots of greenery and candelabra on either side. The "Studs Terkel Wax Museum" on radio station WFMT, is interviewing staff members and participants of Pleasant Valley farm on Tuesday morning, Dec. 30, from 10 to 11 a.m. The program which gives an intimate look at the farm's sum­ mer and year round program and activities provides an op­ timistic look at our world in this holiday season and adds a touch of community and county pride to have Pleasant Valley Farm in our area. Pleasant Valley Farm, locat­ ed between Woodstock and Crystal Lake, is a Commun­ ity agency of the Renewal so­ ciety, Chicago, and serves both the city and county in a num­ ber of ways. It provides a re­ treat for church groups, dis­ cussion groups, and is geared to educational programs in all outdoor sciences. This program on WFMT gives the listener an intimate look at the farm's facilitiesand services and will be of special interest to local people whether or not they have visited the farm or their children have been in­ volved in its Man, History and Culture program or the summer enrichment program which has been a great success in the past few years. River road, McHenry, became the bride of Mr. James Francis Goetz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jospeph T. Goetz of Pittsburg, Pa., in a lovely wedding ceremony sol­ emnized in the Episcopal Church of the Holy Family, Lake Villa, 111., on Saturday, Dec. 13. Vicar Vincent P. Fish of­ ficiated at the 1 o'clock double ring service. Attending the bride were Miss Marlene Carlson of Wonder Lake as maid of honor, Miss Janet Miller of McHenry and Miss Darlene Palis of McCul- lom Lake as bridesmaids. Phillip Trueblood of Bedford, 111., served the groom as best man and groomsmen were War­ ren Johnson of Hayward, Calif., and Ronald Bianchini of Brook­ lyn, New York. Acolyte for the service was the bride's brother, Robert Hess. Following a trip to California via the southern route, the coup­ le will reside in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, for the next two years, where the bridegroom will be stationed. Clifford Morris served his brother as best man and Kenny Yeakey and Jack Stevens were groomsmen. The ring bearer was Kenny Yeakey. Mrs. Ye&key selected for her daughter's wedding a pink crepe dress. A wedding luncheon was held in an Odessa inn, with Mrs. John Qvisenberry, Mrs. Tommy Sal­ mon and Mrs. Ed Barham as hostesses. A reception was held in the church parlors following the ceremony, with 350 in atten­ dance. Later, the couple left on a wedding trip to West Tex­ as and McHenry. The new bride is a grad­ uate of Holston high School, Knoxville, Tenn., an<Mias her B.S. degree from Oklahoma Baptist university, Shawnee, Okla. Mr. Morris is a grad­ uate of McHenry high school and is a senior at the same uni­ versity. JOYCE PITZEN ENGAGED -- Mr. and Mrs. Paul Pitzen of 2210 W. Johnsburg road, McHenry, announce the engagement of their daughter, Joyce, to Rex Coon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Coon of 278 Upland drive, Logansport, Ind. Miss Pitzen is a graduate of Marian Central- high school and graduated in 196n from Alverno college, Milwaukee, Wis^Her fiance graduated from Logansport high school and from the Milwaukee School of Engineering in '69. A spring wedding is planned. American Red Cross in Mc­ Henry county was asked to con­ tribute 500 dozen homemade cookies for the 0iristmas party for the veteran? at Downey Vet­ erans hospital. Instead of 500 homemade cookies, all indi­ vidually wrapped, there were over 800 dozen taken to Downey hospital by Mrs. Gloria Sunder- lage, who has known the need of the military as the wife of a retired officer and with sons now in Vietnam. The cookies were made by Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, 4-H girls, individuals whose names were not given from Harvard, Hebron, Alden, Crystal Lake and Woodstock. The Home Ec class at Woodstock high school sent dozens as a class project. There were beautiful Christ­ mas tree wreaths, gay in red and green ribbons, and favors made by the Bull Valley Gar­ den club and used on Christ- mas day for bed patients. There were lap robes for wheelchair patients made of wool knitted squares. There was even a huge pan of homemade fudge that will be eagerly sought at the party. Judy Nelson Nurse Graduate Miss Judy Nelson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Nel­ son, 207 S. Draper road, Mc­ Henry, was graduated from the St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in Evanston, Dec. 20. Miss Nelson will be one of fifty graduates to receive their diplomas and pins in the grad­ uation ceremonies. This class will be the last to graduate un­ der the nursing school's three- year training program. All stu­ dents currently enrolled in nur­ ses training at St. Francis are following an accelerated two- year curriculum. Following graduation, Miss Nelson will be employed as a nurse at Highland Park. She is a graduate of McHenry high school. The groom's older brother, Michael McClory, ser­ ved as best man. The bride wore a full length, white satin wedding gown which had been worn bv the gi-oom's sister, Beatrice (Mrs. Donald) Etienne, at her wedding. The Etiennes who reside in Geneva, Switzerland, were unable to at­ tend. Miss Lanz attended schools in Switzerland and in Bourne­ mouth, England before coming to the United States in 1968. Mr. McClory attended Lake Forest (111.) high school and was graduated in 1964 from Prin- cipia college, Esah, 111. He is presently on the teaching staff of the Richmond, Calif., school system. The couple met about a year ago in New York City. After a brief Flori ua honey­ moon, the couple will establish their home at 453 Golden Gate avenue, Richmond, Calif.
