The Spring Grove Police department assisted the women by hanging the baskets on light poles in the village. Pictured, from left to right, are Frances Heinemann, Pauline Horak, Chief Willard Bychowski, Eva Freund and Louise Miller. This is a project these women have undertaken to help beautify their community. Birthday night at 7 p.m. Please bring a dish to pass. Women's installation will be held Saturday, June 28. There will be men's enrollment June 22. On June 21, there will be a dinner dance. This will be to celebrate the grand opening of our new -bar room. Members will be admitted free. This will be held at 7 p.m. Eileen Hodgson 1 4-H NEWS I MODERN MISSES 4-H CLUB Modern Misses held its meeting at Parkland school on May 27. The meeting was called to order by President Diane Muskovin at 7:10 p.m. Then Barb Humann in­ troduced Miss Berrie. She talked to Modern Misses about skin and hair care. Modern Misses has decided to go on a tour to Ad- ventureland. We are meeting at Parkland school June 16 at 10 Trigonometry Course At MCC This Summer Due to student request, Mc Henry County college is offering a Trigonometry course during the summer session which was not listed in the summer schedule. Now star­ ted. the class will be held every Tuesday and Thursday from 7 until 10 p.m., giving the student 3 credit hours. The course is a study of the functions and in­ verse functions including a.m. Members of the club can bring their family. There were no demonstrations that night but there was one talk on the common cold done by Lisa Opfer. Additional information may be obtained by calling the college registration office Two Students Honored For Grades At ISU Some 900 students at Illinois State university, Normaf- Bloomington, have been recognized for earning straight "A" grades during the semester. The honor is con­ sidered to be a significant one at this university, which has approximately 18,000 students. Among those so honored were James Schlesser of 211 E. Rt. 120 and Robert Brennan, 3902 White street, Solon Mills. Linn, Mo., with an associate degree in electronics. He also obtained his second class Federal Communications commission. A l!(73 graduate of Pittsfield high school, Mark plans to continue his education. The meeting of the Women of the Moose was called to order by senior regent, Eleanor Haerle, with twenty-four members present. This was Charter Member night and four of our charter girls were present. They were Mabel Thomas, Doris Low, Ethel Hagberg, and Marge Granath. Enrollment was held for Marie Webb, sponsored by Eleanor Haerle, and pro tem sponsor, Ann Eberle. Balloting was held and was favorable. Sunday, June 15, will be the executive session at the Woodstock lodge. All officers are urged to attend. DesPlaines chapter will hold a Past Senior Regents night Thursday, June 12. July 1 is college night. A bake sale will be held Friday, June 13, from 6 to 9. Donations will bev ap­ preciated.
