Happiness is...coming home with mixed emotions, glad to be back, yet wishing it was all just beginning 4-H Night Activities Highlights Of '75 Fair One fair highlight activity each year at the McHenry County Fair is 4-H night. Scheduled for Thursday night, July 31, the evening's activities will begin at 8 p.m. at the grandstand. Mc's for that evening have been selected from the num­ erous 4-H members who competed last spring in the MC Share-The-Funcompetition. Top winner was Linda Rich of Harvard who will begin the program, followed by Kim Kantlehner, McHenry, and Kathy Luersoen, Harvard. The program will include the presentation of the top Share- The Fun skit; a parade of champions, both livestock and Home Economics project winners. The demonstration winners from throughout the year^will be presented with ribbons from the Illinois Bankers association. There will be a dog show and the State Fair clothing winners will be presented to the audience. Lastly, the new 1975 4-H King and Queen will be announced. Competing for the titles are the following: KING: Ed Vogts, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Vogts, Woodstock; David Ainger, Mr. and Mrs. Alan Ainger, Hebron; Ben Jacobs, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Ben Jacobs, Sr., Ringwood; David Several Families Grieved By Death Of Loved Ones Several families were grieved by the death of a loved one in recent weeks. Mr. Cunningham's mother, Theresa Cunningham, a former village resident, died July 17, at her daughter's home in McHenry. Walter Barten, who resided on W. Parkview, died July 19, in Northwest Community hospital. Mr. Barten had been ill for some time, and was preceded in death by his wife, Madelon, who died in January. Mrs. Velia Fradinardo, of McHenry, died July 21, after a long history of heart trouble. Mrs. * Fradinardo was Cindy Martini's mother. Our condolences to the families of the deceased on their losses. • LOSE ALL STAR GAME The McCullom Lake All Stars lost their third game to Lakeland Park July 22. The final score was 10-1. This game finishes the season until next month when McCullom Lake and Lakeland Park join together to play the regionals in McHenry. August 3, is our boys' picnic, and trophies and M.V.P. award will be presented at that time. GIRL'S SOFTBALL As of July 29, the girl's teams will play games on Tuesdays and Thursdays, until they finish up their schedule. ANNIVERSARY Best wishes to Greg and Marie Burg, who celebrate their wedding anniversary, Aug. 1. BIRTHDAYS Happy birthday to Debbie Bitterman and Jim Klapperich, both with the same birthday, July 30. They first traveled by car to Mark's home town of Winding Gulf, W. Virginia, for a family reunion over the Fourth of July weekend. Relatives came from different areas including, Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Illinois, and they met at the home of their brother, Charley. The Grim family used to get together every year, then stopped for several years after their father died, but now plan to renew the tradition of yearly family reunions. After their stay in W. Virginia, Mark, Gloria, and Mark returned home for a few days, then they were off again. This time to Ohio where they stayed mostly around the Sandusky area, relaxing, and taking in the tourist at­ tractions. The Grims spent about four days in Ohio, and once again returned home, this time to get ready to go to Wisconsin. They stayed in Baraboo. for the weekend, and visited Circus World, then came home to stay until next year's vacation. BOARD MEETING The village board meeting is Tuesday, Aug. 5, 8 p.m., in the village hall. This will be the anly board meeting this month.
