The operating expenses and additional equipment required are paid for from the proceeds of the annual dance and from generous contributions from the people. Through the years there had been an increasing need for an adequate building to house the truck and equipment. In February, 1956, the squad purchased a building site in a centralized geographical location with the thought of a future building. In the fall of 1959, an organized campaign for a building fund was started. This campaign was generously supported by the residents of the community and ground was broken for the project im mediately. The members of the squad designed the building and acted as the general contractor. The many con tractors and builders in the area donated materials and equipment. Men in the building trades and members of the squad donated their time and knowledge to insure "the completion of this worthwhile project. Residents of the area now look with pride upon the completed building which was truly a community effort.
