A progress report by the administrative director covering the period from Jan. 4 to Feb. 15, 1960, yields the following information:- "We now have the services of a part-time adult psychiatrist, child psychiatrist, a full time typist-receptionist and recently, have acquired the services of a part time PHD psychologist. From Jan. 11 through Feb. 15, the staff at our center has seen more than thirty-five different pa tients..:"' "The combined in terviews of our staff is more than 80..." Further, a statement of operations for the period January through June 30, 1960, reveals the following fiscal facts. The total expenditures made during that period of time amounted to $14,154.65. Many of the above individuals were instrumental in the founding of the center. A statistical report for the period JuJy 1, 1960, through May ,31, 1961, reveals that a total of 268 patients were seen by staff. For the period July 1, 1960, through June 30, 1961, total expenses amounted to $43;570.90. Of this amount. $38,275.03 was received from the state Grant-In-Aid program. By fiscal year 1964-5, the total income of the agency was stil l only $45,293 of which $37,219 was granted by the state. During that fiscal year, there were, eighty-eight clinical professional staff hours available per week and 106 administrative-clerical hours. In the annual year of 1966, 344 patients were served and the agency received 482 calls (or referrals) for services. Two years later, in fiscal year 1966-67, the agency income was $79,881 and $55,000 was received from state funding. Ninety-six clinical staff hours were available weekly and 132 administrative-clerical hours were available. In the annual year of 1967, 603 referrals were received and 423 new cases were opened. A mental health tax referendum was successfully passed in the Spring of 1967 by the citizens of McHenry county. Beginning with the Dec. 1, 1967, county fiscal year, $75,000 of county tax funds were made available to the agency. For fiscal year July, 1967 - June, 1968, the agency income was $131,979 of which $63,000 came from state funds and $40,327 was reimbursed from the county mental health tax fund. During this period, 112 clinical staff hours and 134 ad ministrative staff hours were available weekly. For the annual year, 1968, the agency received 822 referrals for services and served 577 new cases. • . In October, 1968, the Mental Health center merged with the McHenry County Family Service agency, a newly- formed operation. The center then became known as The Family Service and Mental Health Clinic for McHenry County and began offering family type services as well as mental health services. The -funding for these new services came entirely from county mental health tax funds. It was in fiscal year 1967-68, too, that the Women's auxiliary of the agency was founded.
