John and Allene Drew are celebrating their anniversary on Aug< 11. Congratulations and many, many more. APPEARANCE From the appearance of Holiday Hills as we enter qn Sunset someone or bodies didn't care for our subdivision signs with our name and the warning private keep out, so some time during the week the signs were torn down and one completely taken apart. I sure do hope that whoever was in charge of this had a lot of fun and enjoyed themselves im mensely. By the way in case you forgot and have been driving your car or motor bikes on the beach area this is a no no. I was out for a few minutes and the cars that pulled out on the grass just couldn't read the sign. Now that I have again reminded you I know that you will do better. Thank you. DID YOU? Did you bother to take the time to tell your friends how much they mean to you? Sunday, Aug. 3 was Friendship Day. It hadn't occurred to me that few sailors would ever reach port in this manner. And before I became earnest about church, I thought people's lives-their joys and disappointments, their achievements and failures-were largely a result of fate or fortune. Luck would long ago have replaced religion if this were true. Now I know the thrill of sailing into the wind. Sure, tacking to port or starboard requires a zigzag course, and when your craft heels over at that precarious angle, it takes skill to control her. But that's part of the adventure-making headway against a strong wind. Now, too, I know the thrill of believing in God... of setting a goal, of relying on His power, of devoting myself to reaching the destination. Making headway against adverse winds heels us over-but it's part of the adventure of being a Christian today.
