All interested folks in the area please attend. SEWING CIRCLE Sewing Circle will meet at the home of Blanche Howe on Thursday, Oct. 23. The main project will be to finish all bazaar items and to get them marked. We meet at 10:30 til 3. HALLOWEEN UNICEF PARTY There will be a Halloween UNICEF party held at the Ringwood United Methodist church on Sunday, Oct. 26, from 2 to 5. The children will go out collecting for UNICEF at 2 and return at 4 for a light supper served by ladies of the church. The children are Jto dress in costumes. RUMMAGE SALE The rummage sale is on today, Fri., Oct. 17, at the church until 5 o'clock and tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 18th from 9 to 12. Come in and see us and look around. "HITTIN' THE ROAD" Clayton and Virginia Bruce spent the weekend in Downers Grove with their daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Russ McPherson. They enjoyed helping to spoil their new granddaughter, little Heather Lynn, who was born Oct. 2. This is the Bruce's twenty-first grandchild but for the paternal grandparents, Lois and LeRoy McPherson, this is their first grandchild and you can bet they are thrilled and very happy with her. x Ken and Judy Beck, with children Kenny and Penny, hit the road last weekend pulling their trailer "Happiness Is.." behind the car for an eniovable trip into Door County and Green Bay area. Only one thing marred the trip and that was a thunder and lightning storm at Gills Rock. The storm was so severe, Judy had no desire to make the boat trip across to Washington Island so they saved that for another time. The, trees were "beautiful and * everyon? ehj^^fd URT trip. Art and Katy Christopher travelled up to Marinette County,Wis.f to visit Art's folks. On Saturday they were joined | by Art's sisters, Lorene Berth and family from Green Bay and Maxine Smith from St. Paul. Since it isn't very often they can all get together, it was a wonderful time for everyone. On Sunday, Art and Katy stopped off at Appleton to visit their daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Gary Linstad, before returning home. Rog and Georgia Bauer took a mini-vacation to the Horicon area to view the geese and other fowl gathered on the marsh. It is quite a sight. Roger and Bonnie Petska with their boys, Roger and Ryan,, spent the weekend with relatives in Holcombe and Jump River, Wis. For those of you who are as ignorant as your reporter, Jump River is nor­ thwest of Marshfield. If you hear jukebox music coming out of their home, you will be hearing correct. Roger bought it from his sister who had it in her tavern, and they hauled it back for their enjoyment. The Clayton <Bruces attended the forty-fifth wedding an­ niversary celebration and dinner last Saturday for Elmer and Florence Ackman at Crystal Lake. A number of people from the community attended the golden wedding anniversary honoring Leslie and Susan Olsen (Speaker) held at the K.C. hall in McHenry last Sunday. A lot of people had full tummies and really enjoyed the ham dinner served by the McHenry Rotary club last Sunday. Our hats are off to you men. a FAMILY REUNION Walt and Doris Low took off again this last weekend for the annual family reunion at Bettendorf, la. Patt, .Lee and Scott Miller went as did Ray Low and friend Cindy Caywood of Woodstock. Mabel Thomas, the Ed Erwins and the Fern- stroms all went from McHenry. Pam and Dan Kehoe of Elkhorn and Linda and Bill Billikas of Dubuque, la., were there as were a lot of Doris's aunts and uncles and cousins from Southern part of Iowa and the Chicago area. There were eighty-six people there. 'Twas a beautiful weekend weatherwise for a reunion. The McHenry County college Student Activities board (SAB) has scheduled a timely and interesting event for the evening of Oct. 30th. In the atmosphere of Halloween and SAB will present Ed and Lorraine Warren in a program Rummage Sale - Friday, Oct. 17 - 9 til 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18 - 9 til noon. TRICKS AND THEATERS The president asked all the tricks and treaters to go around the neighborhood between the hours of three and eight on Halloween.
