PfGE 2 - PLAINDE ALER-FRID AY, DECEMBER 26, 1975 k f It J ~ Senior Citizens Learn Nomihees For Off ices The McHenry Senior Citizens club enjoyed the annual Christmas dinner and party at the East campus cafeteria. After Pastor Baumann offered grace, about 225 enjoyed a very fine holiday feast. The tables were colorfully and beautifully decorated, with individual table favors for each person. Since there will be an election of officers at the Jan. 12 meeting, Harry Symonds read the slate of nominees the Nominating committee sub mitted. They were president, Chester Conrad; vice- president, Ralph Lockerbie; recording secretary, Mrs. Helen Strandquist; financial secretary, Mrs. Louise Giel; treasurer, Mrs. Virginia Nix; historian and publicity, Mrs. Lyda Radisch; social chairlady, Mrs. Anne Reh- finger, and co-chairlady, Mrs. Myrtle Grever; program chairlady, Mrs. Ann Schwarz, and co-chairlady, Mrs. Clara Slager; tour chairman, John Doerr; loop bus trips, Mr. and Mrs. Roland Grayson; membership chairlady, Mrs. Pearl Oliver, and co-chairlady, Mrs. Bertha English; newsletter editor, Morris Rogers. It was unanimously agreed when President Bowsher called the meeting to order to dispense with all regular and routine business. Mr. Bowsher then introduced the honored guests, who in cluded Mayor Stanek and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Fields and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Boeldt. Although Pastor and Mrs. Baumann are members of the club, Pastor Bauman was invited to give the blessing and the benediction. Mayor Stanek spoke briefly, as did Mr. Fields and Mr. Boeldt. As usual, the guests were impressed with the large attendance of members, and the activity programs and enthusiasm displayed. Mrs. Alice Wilke and the square dancers began the very lovely program they had prepared for this Christmas party. The dancers looked so lovely in their square dance attire, it was difficult to realize they are senior citizens. Some of the members also enjoyed waltzing during an in termission. Social Chairlady ^Lnne Reh- finger and her committee made Christmas table favors that were delivered to Valley-Hi nursing home to make the holiday more enjoyable and festive. The Executive committee meeting will be at 3 p.m. at Landmark school Monday, Jan. 5, and the next meeting of the club will be Monday, Jan. 12, at 7:30 p.m., at East campus cafeteria. Some members have reported going to West campus cafeteria for the luncheons which are now being served to senior citizens at a very nominal cost. The luncheons will also be available at East campus cafeteria on the same basis. Pioneer Club Enjoys Holiday Dinner, Party CHRISTMAS DANCE ROYALTY - Kathy Pahl, Woodstock, and Randy Rook, Harvard, left, were crowned queen and king, respectively, at the annual MCC Christinas dance,/^Fantasia '75". They danced the first dance together and were joined by last year's king and queen, Georgia Richardson, Cary, and Matt Doherty, Crystal Lake. Two hundred and twenty-five students, alumni, parents, MCC personnel, and trustees attended the dinner-dance held at the Abbey in Fontana. About seventy members of the Pioneer cfub held their Christmas party at Orsolini's, including a dinner of beef, chicken and turkey with all the trimmings. Grace before meal was said by Mrs. Elizabeth Wittmayer. There were many gifts given away, as well as a special gift for everyone present. Christ mas carols were sung, led by Robert Leonhardt. An oak tree grows acorns, and new shoes grow corns. Pretty corny joke, huh? "Gee Santa, you're Forgetful, I just told you across the street that I wanted an electric train for Christmas!"
