MARCH 3. 1978 Prospective Parents A reminder to prospective parents comes from Bert Han son, executive director of Memorial hospital for McHenry county at Woodstock. Mr. Hanson announced the next "Preparation for Parenthood" free instructional course, a two evening session, will begin at 8 p.m. Monday, March 6. The informational program will be held in the hospital dining room on both March 6 and 13, as a free community service program of Memorial hospital. Both prospective mothers and fathers are in vited, and, in the past, frequently both expectant parents have attended these sessions. Mrs. Fran Scholpp, R.N., obstetrical department supervisor, will take part in the program, which includes a tour of the hospital's maternity department, movies and talks. Fathers-to-be wishing to be in the delivery room with their wives are reminded to obtain the proper permission slips from their doctors and must attend these sessions. Antique Expert Speaker At Opera House Series Constance Parenti, authority on dolls and other antiques, will present the fourth Creative Living series program for the Woodstock Fine Arts association Thursday morning at 10 a.m., March 16, at the Woodstock Opera House. Her program will deal with antiques which pertain specifically to women--their lives, work, and personal adornment. She will also talk about potpourri making and will involve the audience by identifying items which they bring. Having attended the University of Chicago and Northland college, Mrs. Parenti has worked as a social worker, operated the Lost Child Doll and toy shop in Union and taught adult education courses for McHenry County college. Tickets will be available at the door with reduced rates for senior citizens and students. A coffee hour precedes the program at 9 a.m. Nominating Committee Chosen For Senior Club At the meeting of the Wonder Lake Senior Citizen club Feb. 20 a nomination committee was selected for the election of 1978 officers at the March 20 meeting. Members opened the meeting by pledging allegiance to the flag and the singing of "God Bless America" in honor of Lincoln and Washington's birthdays. Following secretary and treasurer's reports and ap proval, the men sang "Let Me Call You Sweetheart" as a Valentine tribute to the ladies. Plans were discussed for future trips by the club. At a prior meeting, Nellie Cina from the McHenry Senior Citizen council gave a very interesting talk and in structions on how to fill out applications for the Circuit Breaker benefit and the Homestead exemption. The meeting of Feb. 20 was then adjourned and refresh ments were served. Card players then enjoyed the rest of the afternoon at the tables while some of the ladies brought some of their craft- work to display. this stroll down memory lane. Refreshments will be served. Advance tickets are available from students at St. John's school or at the door. STAFF PHOTO-WAYNE GAYLORD Hostess: Mrs. Linda Thietje.
