Owners of male dogs are encouraged to have the surgery with a similar refund. Many do. Yes, there are other^ problems, plenty of them. But they are being corrected as public pressure is applied. To name two - an ACC officer was fired because of the many complaints received about him. And the tranquillizer gun has been abolished because it was improperly administered. HP would like to go on record as stating the ACC fills a vital need in the community and recognizing Dr. Johnson, head of the Health department, and Jack Raehorst for their help in the past, and hopefully for changes in the future. Rescue '50' Presentation March 17 Proceeds of Rescue '50', the snowmobile marathon held Jan. 15 to raise funds for local rescue squads, will be presented in an evening program March 17 at the McHenry American Legion post hall. Total of all pledges collected are expected to ex­ ceed $7,000, resulting in a 40 percent increase over last year's event. Public support of the snowmobilers in their drive to aid the community was outstanding. Members of eight area snowmobile clubs supplied 113 dedicated riders for the 52-mile ride through McHenry county. Organized by Harmony Snowmobile club under the direction of members Roy and Roye Roadman, McHenry's Sno-Bugs, Sno-Ballers and Moose Sno-Bergs were joined by the Harmony Snow- Trackers, Polar Pairs, Eh- mann's Penguins of Fox Lake, and the Hebron Penguins. The top pledge rider was Jim Wright of McHenry Sno-Bugs with a record $1,009.50 earned. Also raising highest earnings for Harmony Snowmobile club was Walt Low at $580, who was lead guide on the colorful parade. Hebron Penguins' Jim Hilton piloted his sled for $533. Patrick King, was taken into custody after a Sheriff's patrol car noticed the King car being driven in an erratic manner with its bright lights on.
