Bud and June Oxtoby visited with June's brother, the Harold Nelsons, in Sterling, 111., last weekend. They enjoyed brunch at a country club and a delicious supper at the Nelson's home. Twas a very enjoyable day for brother and sister and families. Doris Low, her sister Marge Fernstrom, and mother Mabel Thomas both of McHenry returned this last Wednesday from Iowa where they attended the funeral of Doris and Marge's aunt and a sister-in- law to Mabel^ SEWING WORK DAY Sewing work day will meet at Alice Peet's home in McHenry Thursday, April 27, at 10:30. 4-H NEWS The Busy-Three 4-H club held its monthly meeting April 10. It was called to order at 7:45 by President Bob Doessel. The minutes were read, attendance was taken and the treasurer's report was given. A committee was formed to set up the club tour. The ten­ tative date for this tour is June 25. Tom and Tine Steinmetz were selected as delegates for the federation meetings. Mr. Tomlinson mentioned that May 1 is the deadline to add or drop any projects members had listed on their enrollment forms. He also mentioned that it is required to attend at least two-thirds of the meetings to get credit for your projects. There will be a roller skating party for all 4-Hers in the county April 19 and 20 at the McHenry roller rink. Coupons can be found in your newsletters. Talks were given by Mike Gorski on hamsters, Kim Doessel on roller skating, and Tim Watkins on sheep shearing. The meeting was adjourned and refreshments were served.. The next meeting is May 8. For example, they may not be able to write but be able to tell wonderful stories; they may not be able to follow simple directions but be able to rebuild an auto engine. Most estimates indicate that perhaps between 10-12 percent of school children have a learning disability requiring special teaching techniques. In recent years the federal government has recognized that students with learning disabilities have exceptional learning problems that require additional financial support. McHenry's Special Education Program McHenry high school receives such support and has a program dedicated to meet the needs of these students. Through specific Learning Management classes and related programs, students receive individual assistance with their learning problems. She then introduced Cindy Holtfreter of Harvard and Marge Leitheiser of Crystal Lake, who told the guests of their experiences at MacMurray college and showed some excellent slides taken during the 1977 session.
