DAD'S FAVORITE FOOD IS BEEF -- RARE, MEDIUM OR WELL DONE Dad's taste buds find their greatest titilljation in a morsel of beef for FatHtr's Day feasting. The Beef In dustry Council has researched prefer ence? of Dad's all over the country, and estimate that nearly 75 million pounds of beef will be consumed over Father's! Day week-end this year. Som* like it rare, some like it well- done, but all Dad's seem to like it. The research kitchens of the Beef Industry Coupfcil have developed a special marinade for Father's Day Beef Broil, traditionally served at the National and Regional Father of the Year Awards Luncheons. If you want to treat your Dad (or any man, for that matter) here's the easy to prepare recipe. It's practically fool-proof and we guarantee "he'll" like it fine. FATHER'S DAY 1978 GROOMING AIDS For Father's Day on June 18 this year, the Men's Fashion Associ ation notes that fashion starts from the skin out and recom mends a host of grooming acces sories that will please Dad and contribute to his good looks and personal well-being. The new family of grooming aids are made expressly for men with their special needs in mind. There are the skin toners, for example, astringent preparations that give that healthy outdoors look to a fellow. For the man who's been confined to work at a desk or indoors all week long, the skin toners can give that firm look to his face and neck that was once identified with the rugged outdoorsman. The use of skin toners also can do a lot to restore a healthier look to the man who may have been guilty of overin dulging on a big night. Shaving accessories are things a man needs and uses daily. There are literally hundreds of prepara tions, most of them attractively packaged, that any man would be delighted to receive as Father's Day gifts. Among those shaving preparations are shaving creams some of which are formulated to use with a brush, others that can be used without a brush as well as foams that squirt ready to rub in directly from cans. After-shave preparations have ,a long-established standing with men and there are currently more than ever. Some carry names of famous men's wear designers; others have labels that go back to Grandad's day, and each has some characteristic to distinguish it from the others--minty scents, woodsy smells, the aroma of fine leather or exotic odors identified with the orient. Among the most popular are some that employ a musky scent, reputed to be most pleasing and attractive to the (adies. Male deodorants are also at a peak of popularity and come in spray types, roll-ons and stick forms--great after a bath or Shower and guaranteed to keep a fellow fresh all through the day. Even soap isn't just soap any more. There are soaps that are made with the same scents as his favorite after-shave lotions as well as finely milled soaps that produce luxurious lathers. There is even soap on a rope that makes it easier to control the elusive and slippery cake during Dad's ablutions. The gift shelves are loaded with many other possibilities: hair preparations that make good sense with the trend back to shorter hair; all kinds of sham poos, skin treatments, and the largest collection of men's col ognes in history. All of which prove that even the man cele brated on June 18 wants to be well dressed and well groomed. artd the empathy among Father, Mother and Child editorializes family inter-relationship with a happy glow of warmth, joy and dignity. „ NO taMt FAIC Qfp W<tic Tre..
