June Wedding In Texas For Former Resident Former McHenry resident DeAnne Elizabeth Owen became the bride of ift&rk Bradford of Texas at Sagamore Hill Baptist church, Ft. Worth, Tex. Saturday, June 17. : The marital promises of wedlock were exchanged during a 7 p.m. candlelight service before the Rev. Paul Young. Greenery spiraled from the spacious loft and decorated the candelabrum at the altar where baskets of pink and white mums and gladiolas sat at each side. Musical selections of the bridal couple including "Make Us One", "That's The Way", and "All My Life" were offered during the ceremony by soloist Sally Gardner with organ accompaniment by Barbara Parker. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel P. Owen of 1748 Oakland boulevard, Ft. Worth, Tx., and the parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. William Bradford of 217 McCann avenue, Sulphur Springs, Tx. The bride's traditional white designer gown featured a high neckline and short cap sleeves. The bodice to the waist was generously sprinkled with alencon lace and tiny seed pearls for extra sparkle. Within the bodice, a sheer inset was made with a. cameo design in the center. The gathered chiffon skirt fell softly to the floor to form a sweeping chapel length train in back. The finger tip length bridal illusion veil fell from a cap covered with matching alencon lace and tiny seed pearls. A cascading bridal bouquet of pink and white roses with stephonatis and ivy was carried. The bride was attended by Ruth Bolin of Minneapolis, Minn., as maid of honor while Mrs. Lisa Owen of Arlington, Tx., the bride's sister-in-law, and Kerry and Kelly Bradford, sisters of the groom from New York and Texas respectively, acted as bridesmaids. A cousin of the bride, Lisa Patterson, filled the role of junior bridesmaid. Lace trimmed V neck gowns in medium pink with accordian pleated skirts falling from empire waistlines and shoulder caplets of matching chiffon were worn by the attendants. Each carried a cascading bouquet of miniature hot pink 'carnations and white starburst 'mums with lime green baby's •breath and vDore miniature hot pink carnations with lime green baby's breath in her hair. The bridegroom was assisted by Gary Furney of San Francisco, Calif, as best man, and Jack George of Ft. Worth, Tx., Phil Owen of Arlington. Tx., the bride's brother, and Tony Flippin of Longview, Tx., the groom's cousin, handled the duties of groomsmen. The bride'^cousin, Brad Patterson, was ringbearer. Mrs. Owen wore a soft peach long gown with long flared chiffon sleeves while the mother of the bridegroom chose a soft blue floor length tunic styled gown with long sleeves. The church Fellowship hall was the setting for a wedding reception where approximately 200 friends and relatives toasted the bridal couple after the ceremony. The newlyweds will make their home in Ft. Worth, Tx. after a 2-week honeymoon trip to Colorado. The bride graduated from McHenry Community high school in 1972 and from Nor­ thwestern university School of Dental Hygiene in 1974. She is employed as a dental hygienist. The bridegroom is a 1969 graduate of Sulphur Springs high school and a 1975 graduate of East Texas State university. He is in sales and marketing. The bride was honored at pre- nuptial showers in Ft. Worth, Arlington, Dallas, Euless, and Sulphur Springs, Tx. Plan Parish Summer Social Taking advantage of a lovely day outdoors to plan the annual Summer social of St. Peter's Catholic church, Spring Grove, are seated, left to right, Elaine Etten and Kay Smith; standing, left to right, Bill Etten, Rev. John Kilduff, and Dan Miller. On Sunday, June 25, the members of St. Peter's parish will once again host their annual Summer social. A tiny 7 lb. 14 oz. baby girl is introducing Michael and Lori Johnson of 4808 Willow lane, McHenry, to the duties of parenthood. The little miss was named Emily Marie at the time of her birth Tuesday, June 13, at McHenry hospital. FIRST EDITION Mr. and Mrs. Michael Kalfus of 915 N. RiVer road, McHenry, welcome their first child, a daughter born Saturday, June 10, at McHenry hospital. The hospital records show her arrival time as 12:28 p.m., her weight as 7 lbs. 2 oz., and her length as an even 20 inches. She was named Stacy Ann by her parents. Grandparents include Mrs. Alice Costello of Ingleside and the late Arthur Costello, and Mr. and Mrs. Michael Kalfus of Spring Hills, Fla. Frank Kalfus of Woodstock is her great grandfather. Following a blessing of marital commitments Saturday, June 10, at the Fox Lake Baptist church, a honeymoon trip was taken to the birthplace of the bridegroom, San Francisco, Calif. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald G. Liberty of 5107 W. Fountain lane, McHenry, and the parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Burget T. Pearson of R.R. 6, Box 232, Rockford. The bride is a secretary and free lance writer and the bridegroom is a youth minister, salesman and seminary student. DON PEASLEY PHOTOGRAPHY Rev. Herman Graef blessed the union of Antionette Diedrich and Michael Murphy as man and wife at Zion Lutheran church Saturday, June 17, during a 5 o'clock ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Diedrich of 1401 Millstream drive, McHenry, and the bridegroom's mother is Mrs. Alice Rausch of 1080 Lakeview, Elgin. The bridal gown was fashioned of white nylon chiffon with a high neckline, a yoke of reembroidered lace, and bishop sleeves with cuffs of lace. The skirt was edged in scalloped reembroidered lace and swept to a chapel length train. Her chapel length veil, appliqued with lace, and blusher veil fell from a comb to form a man­ tilla. Maid of honor to the bride was Wilma Rasmussen of Woodstock with Bonnie Olson of Wonder Lake, Sharon Reid, the bride's cousin of McHenry, Sandy Sosinski and Sue Sund, both of McHenry, attending as bridesmaids. A cousin of the bride, Kelly Covalt of McHenry was junior bridesmaid while another cousin of the bride, Becky Covalt of McHenry, acted as flower girl. The attendants were gowned in floor length dresses of light blue with accordian pleated skirts and matching capes. The responsibilities of best, man were carried out by Bruce Lamberg of Wonder Lake and groomsmen included Scott Lasko, Bob Scooley, and Mark Diedrich, the bride's brother, all of McHenry, and Dave Zamastil of Wonder Lake. Mitch Diedrich of McHenry, the brother of the bride, was junior groomsman and Tim Amore of Sunnyside acted as ringbearer. The mothers of the bride and groom were gowned in floor length dresses, Mrs. Diedrich in rose beige lace and chiffon and Mrs. Rausch in silver blue. The bridal couple were congratulated at Andre's Steak House, Richmond, by 180 friends and relatives im­ mediately after the ceremony. A home in McHenry awaits the newlyweds upon their return from a week-long honeymoon trip to St. Louis, Mo. The bride graduated from McHenry Community high school in 1975 and is a bank teller at Marengo Federal, Woodstock. The bridegroom is a 1976 graduate of McHenry Com­ munity high school and is employed as a brazer for M o d i n e M a n u f a c t u r i n g , McHenry. KAREN ANN KRICH SCOTT WALTER FUNK SEPTEMBER VOWS-Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Krich of 11517 Charles road, Woodstock, announce the engagement of their daughter, Karen Ann, to Scott Walter Funk, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Funk of 408 Dowell road, McHenry. The bride-elect attended McHenry Community and Huntley high schools and her fiance graduated from McHenry Community high school in 1975. Both are employed in Woodstock. June Nuptial Rite Unites McHenry Couple Beef Quotas Illinois Director of Agriculture John R Block reported that the Carter ad­ ministration's decision to raise beef import quotas by 200 million pounds demonstrated a "lack of understanding of both the producers' and the con­ sumers' problems."
