Ruth Wickershom Sunday Worship 11 a.m. Sunday School 9:45 a.m. McHenry Evangelical Free Church Approximately 5,000 volunteers are needed to an­ swer telephones and take pledges of donations from the viewers of the annual Labor day Muscular Dystrophy telethon from 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 3, until 5:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 4. Volunteers will be assigned to the nearest one of nine different telphone pledge centers in the Chicago area and parts of Indiana. To register, call 427-0551. During the 21'2-hour telet- mon, volunteers work six-hour shifts in pledge centers located at the Prudential Plaza, Randolph and Michigan avenue, Chicago; Moose Lodge, Randall road and Route 38, St. Charles; Moose Lodge, 2755 W Washington. Waukegan; United Air Lines, 1200 Algonquin road. Elk Grove Village; and at two centers at McDonald's Plaza, Oak Brook. Additional centers are being planned for Valparaiso and Merrilville, Indiana, and Joliet, Illinois. During the six-hour work shifts, there are rest breaks every hour and food and refreshment provided by the M u s c u l a r D y s t r o p h y Association (MDA). The ' local Muscular Dystrophy telethon is part of the nationally broadcast Jerry Lewis Labor Day telethon, which annually raises more than 60 million dollars for treatment and research funds. MDA maintains a network of 187 cUnics where diagnosis. treatment, orthopedic aids, therapy, and counseling are provided to patients and their families - all free of charge with no means test or fee reimbursement required. Extend Theatre Offering "Foxfire lights the stage" in an extended run of NeU Simon's "Barefoot in the Park" at the new dinner theatre, Crescent Bay Landing. In the words of the play s director, Sandra Smith. "We are delighted with the public response to our show and plan to present a con­ tinuing variety of comedies, mysteries and farces". Originally scheduled for a three-week run, "Barefoot in the Park" has been extended to run through Aug. 24 Evening performances are at 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays with matinees planned for 1:30 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays. Theatre-only patrons may call for reservations or find tickets^ available at the door. •. Foxfire s next production at Crescent Bay Landing will be Muriel Resnik s delightful comedy. "Any Wednesday which will open Sept. 5 with performances Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at 8 p.m. and matinees at 130 p.m Wednesdays and Thursdays through Sept. 28. "Any Wednesday", the ac­ claimed Broadway hit, takes place in the executive suite of •John Cleaves, a self-assured millionaire tycoon, played by Michael Bailey. Cleaves enjoys the perfect romance with the lovely and spirited young Ellen Yvonne Alton) on his Wed nesday visits to the suite. Complications arise when a bungling secretary first directs to the suite an out-of-town executive. Cass Henderson <Reynold Smith) who has an axe to grind with Geaves and then directs the unwitting Mrs Cleaves (Sandra Smith) to the scene. The three-ring circus which ensues will keep the audience rollicking with laughter throughout this delightful comedy.
