Published by order of McHenry Township Highway Commissioner Clarence Regner (Pub. Sept. 8,1978) Welcome New Members As Alliance church completes its third year in its new building, the pastor, the Rev. Gerald Robertson, welcomes into membership Mrs. Carol Miller and Walter and Virginia Ulick. The Alliance church, 3815 Bull Valley road, McHenry, has now been in its new building for three years. God has prospered and blessed the church with new members, as He adds to His church The picture shown above was taken Sunday, Sept. 3 The Rev. Gerald Robertson, pastor of the church, received into membership Mrs. Carol Miller, and Walter and Virginia Ulick. Mrs. Miller and the Ulicks, who have been at tending the church for some time. The pastor says, "the Bible teaches that the church is made up of those who have put their faith in Jesus Christ as Savior, and receive Him into their hearts as personal Savior He, Jesus Christ, paid for our sins on the cross of calvary, shedding His blood for the atonement." The Alliance church is just that, the family, or body of believers who have come together to worship God They seek to serve Him in seeking those who are outside God's family, in the salvation of their souls. On Sept. 24, Sunday, there will be an old fashioned church meeting, weather permitting, on the grounds of the church. Everyone is invited to come. One need only bring a lawn chair, pot-luck dinner, enjoy a service under a tent, hopefully, have a family type dinner, enjoy the afternoon in visiting, games, etc. After, eating "leftovers" in the early evening, a bonfire and testimonial service will be held. This is the type of service that was held in years past, when people came from many miles away, to praise and worship God, have a time of fellowship, and get to know each other. The pastor, Rev. Robertson is always available to those in need of counseling in the community. His burden is great for the McHenry area as he soon begins his twelfth year in the Lord's service. • • • • It's not what a man makes but what he saves that gives him security.
