A new coach Mary Stoner greeted a volleyball team at Marian that returned intact from last year, except for one player. Last year's team finished third in the conference, and "The sophomores and freshmen on the team have very advanced skills for underclassmen," according to Stoner. "They will be very good the next few years." The team also has a very good attitude according to Stoner which will be a good help "This team should win the districts," she said "And it has a good chance of winning the conference, because everyone is back." with all the players from that team returning, there is reason for optimism on the varsity level. Tennis Coach Hopes For Improvement Marian girl's tennis coach Cindy Smith, in her second year, hopes that her team can improve this year as much as it did last • • I^ast year, the team improved 20 [»ereent over the previous year," she said, "and I hope to see and slightly t>etter improvement this year."
