SECTION 2 - PAGE 4 - PLAINDEALFR - WEDNESDAY. OCTOBER 11.1978 greetings go to Dickie Duell, who has his day Oct. 8. Oct. 10 is the special day for Davfe Davis, Jr. Village treasurer, Bud Pflug, celebrates his day Oct. 12. Best wishes to you all for a happy day and many more to come Sunnyside Area Betty Messer 344-2494 MCHS Plans Theatre Season Cable Television Service Approved For Sunnyside Cable TV Will come to Sun nyside At its Oct. 3 meeting, the village granted permission to Bill Kapper & associates, of Woodstock, a cable TV fran chise, to come into the village. It will probably be spring before plans are completed. Village will be able to purchase cable T V service There will be an installation fee and theh a monthly service charge Cable T V will allow the viewer wider selection of viewing More on cable T V when all the details are completed. Bids for snow removal are being accepted by the village, since it is that time of the year again when we have to be thinking of snow From the sudden change in weather we may need shovels sooner than expected. Vehicle sticker for the year 1979 are in and will go on sale Dec 1 All residents of the village are required to display a current sticker on each car in their possession Failure to do so in the required time allowed will result in a ticket and fine of $10 plus the sticker price Stickers will be available from village clerk, Betty Messer, 1405 W Bayview lane Several villagers, who are avid hunters, attended the meeting in regard to an or dinance Fox Lake passed Fox Lake's ordinance says that all hunters in their town, and within a three mile radius, must purchase a $25 hunting permit The three mile radius brings the boundary into M cHenry county The village has a number of men who will be out hunting; so Sunnyside is in the process of drawing up a similar ordinance Thus the permit fee will go to our village instead of the Fox Lake treasury, which clears up the objection our area hunters had to the ordinance Hunting without a permit would subject the hunter to quite a steep fine The next meeting of the village is Tuesday, Oct 17, at 8 p m in the village hall. 4206 Wilmot road NORTHWOODS TRIP President Ray Nolan and his wife Marj, 1403 W Bayview lane, took a few days off to go up north for their first fishing trip this year They went to Land O'Lakes, Wis., and braved the sudden cold weather and the predictions of snow for of your I With inflation protection from American Family! CTNS /"V Wonder Lake Mary Jean Huff Mary Jean Huff Says "Good-By" Eight years ago there was a baby in our house As a matter of fact, during the previous ten years, there had been a total of five babies at two year in tervals arriving at our house 1 can't remember now, just how many diapers 1 had changed, rinsed, soaked^ washed, dried. folded anfi put back on their proper Mparts, but I can remember the feeling that filtered through my external sense of maternal blessedness, telling my inner soul that beyond the eternal diaper pail, there was a place for mothers who choose to care for their babies and small children at home. I reached out in search of this oasis and found myself ap plying to Adele Proelich, editor of the Plaindealer, for the job of correspondent for the Wonder Lake news. In no time at all, I remembered what the inside of a dictionary looked like. Through the years there have been the frustrations of staring at a blank piece of paper with no news at all to write about. There were challenges ac cepted, some from the editor, Adele, who had more con fidence in my ability than I did. There were compliments from readers who found something in the writing. There were complaints, of course, for the inevitable mistakes, and oc casional regrets over what was written One thing I do know is that dealing with Plaindealer people was a pleasure, and dealing with Wonder Lake people was an equal pleasure And now, as sure as there is a time in life for everything, this is the time for me when the SECTION 2 - PAGE 5 - PI AINDEALER - WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER II. 1978 babies are growing up and their mother has reached out for a full time job The quantity of time once spent with the children is being replaced by the quality of the time. The real beauty behind this story lies with the readers. A new columnist for the Wonder Lake news begins next week bringing the fresh approach of a girl well known in Wonder Lake.
