Among snow and rain, the Gordon Baking company, whose main office is in Ohio, moved a bit of its business into the George Stilling garage on Elm street and Riverside drive. The Gordon bakers are the makers of the famous Silvercup ("Heigho Silver") bread. Open House day for all hardware stores was the biggest day for sales in the history of the Wm. H. Althoff hardware business in West McHenry. 820 adults registered on that day. The John J. Vycital hardware store on Green street also relates a glowing report of sales.
