SEVIN SUPPORT "Dear Editor: "Those few who have organized the protest against the spraying of the Gypsy Moth infestation have not told their followers all the known facts about «the chemical Sevin spray. "...The fact that in 1977 a similar infestation of the Gypsy Moth occurred in Palos (tills, just south of Chicago • that the Illinois Department of Agriculture used the same spray program that was to be used in Whispering Oaks. f...The fact that on the days of the spraying no one was injured and until now, three years later, no dangerous after-effects have been reported. Instead, letters were received by the City Council, one from the mayor and one from a resident, attesting to the success of the program. "...The fact that a field test such as this against humans is much more conclusive than dozens of laboratory tests on animals. "...The fact that the chemical Sevin is widely used as a commercial fruit and vegetable spray, has been used for many years.
