Instruction will ftoirer wood selection, understanding of tools and rfieir function, and primary wood finishing. The class will begin June 9 and meet Monday and Wednesday for six weeks from 7-10 p.m. Instructor Don Norton, Sr. is a member of the National Woodcarvers association. His carvings are on display in the National Carver's museum * in Colorado Springs, Colo. The class will meet in Room ^62 on campus. It is affecting everyone in one way or another. For Building At long last the village municipal building is under way. For years this was talk and now ground has been broken and the foundation is being laid. Those who live near the village property on Channel Beach drive will be able to watch the progress. The company doing the construction work got started sooner than we expected, we were planning to hold a ground breaking ceremony, but since this didn't happen, when the building is finished watch for the village to hold a dedication ceremony. We are proud of the progress our small village has been making. The past few years have seen the village double in population and annex several new subdivisions. Although building is practically at a standstill now, as it is all over. But wfeen this current- situation is resolved and construction starts up again watch for Sunnyside to continue to grow. We are all hoping this is going to happen in the near future. The museum will open at 1:30 p.m., with the business portion of the meeting to include yearly reports by society president, Shuji Kimura of Crystal Lake; museum director, Mark Haggil; treasurer, Don Hildebrand of Union; and membership chairperson, Leta Clark of Woodstock. It is also during this meeting that the nominating committee consisting of Henry Marlowe and William "Pat" Williams of Huntley and Nancy Petzeit of Algonquin present their list of nominations to the board of directors. Nominations will also be accepted from i he floor.
