The 3 p.m. ceremony was celebrated by Dr. Eric Snyder on Aug. 9, in a setting of white, yellow, pink and blue gladioli, daisy pomps and ice bergs. Three musical selections were performed by Ann Welk, soloist and Evelyn Zuonar at the organ. The bride's gown was fashioned of ivory lace over taffeta, highlighted with sequins, and a mantilla veil wa* secured to her hair. She carried a lace handkerchief originally carried by the groom's mother and her daughter at their weddings. Attendants all wore long dresses in rainbow colors of yellow, blue, pink and green. Matching silk flowers adorned their hair and comprised their bouquets. Arvin Jensen of McHenry was the best man. The mother of the bride chose a floor length, blue floral chiffon gown, over blue silk, and her corsage was a blue orchid. A prime rib dinner was served to 127 guests at An­ dres Steak House, Rich­ mond, following the ceremony. The bride's brother and his wife, Robert and Diane Wagner, Hew in from Seattle, Wash, for the wedding. The couple will reside in McHenry when they return from a honeymoon in Ber­ muda. The bride is employed as an administrative assistant (social work) at North Riverwood Center in Mundelein. The groom is a manager of McDonalds in McHenry. At the next meeting of the Senior Cititen club of Wonder Lake, Monday, Aug 18, a speaker, Jim Rafael, will explain the procedure of annexation of Wonder Lake, citing all the facts. He will show charts and try to an­ swer questions to this an educational afternoon Prior to the regular meeting, blood pressures will be taken from 11:30 to 12:30 for all senior citizens of Wonder Lake. An invitation is extended to all seniors 60 years or over to come and spend an af­ ternoon of fellowship. President Bill Lamont opened the Aug. 4 meeting at Christ the King church hall and Picnic chairman, Joe Rod was recognized for all her efforts in giving the members a day of fun. Sally Matt is taking reservations for the trip to Milwaukee for dinner and entertainment on Sunday, Aug. 24. It is hoped that a bus can be filled for an en­ joyable; afternoon. A repent was given on the members who are ill and everyone was asked to send a get well card or pay them a visit in person. Marriage In Christ Portrayed In Banner A banner portraying the marriage in Christ symbol, made by the family of the bride and presented to the church, provided the perfect setting for the marriage of Cynthia Ann Schmitt and Bruce David Dantuma. Reverend John Kilduff officiated at the 2 p.m. solemnization of vows in St. Peter's Catholic church Aug. 9. Appropriate music was furnished by soloist, Mrs. Cathie Caughlin and Denise Nelson, accompanist. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John (Jade) Schmitt, 2101 Sunset drive, Spring Grove. Mr. and Mrs. Klaas Dantuma, 6623 Route 173, Richmond, are the parents of the groom. , The bride wore a gown of Georgette chiffon, reem- broidered, featuring alencon lace. It was styled with a fitted bodice accented with tiny seed pearls, a Queen Anne neckline, shadowed sleeves, appliqued with lace and a chapel train. Her finger-tip veil cascaded from a Camelot head piece of matching lace. A friend of the bride, Gail Nelson of Richmond, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were a friend of the bride, JoAnn Adomaitis and a sister of the bride, Cheri Schmitt, both of Spring Grove. Sandra Schmitt, sister of the bride, was a junior bridesmaid; and the flower girl was the bride's godchild, Jill Bergsma of Richmond. Attendants wore dresses in pastel shades of the rainbow, styled with a blouson bodice, crystal pleated skirt and a scooped neckline. They carried ceramic baskets, a gift of the bride, which she had made. Andrew Miller of Rich­ mond, a friend of the groom, was the best man. Groomsmen, friends of the groom, were James Speaker of Richmond and Phil Meyer of De Kalb. Ushers, brothers of the bride, were David and Albert Schmitt, both of Spring Grove. A nephew of the groom, Jason Snyder of Twin Lakes, Wis. was the ring bearer. Ed McFadden, from the McHenry county Sheriffs department, lectured on how the senior citizens can protect themselves from economic crime. Three prenuptial showers were given for the bride; a buffet supper by her aunts, Mrs. Kathy Lindbom and Mrs. Barb Bergsma; another by Gail Nelson and JoAnn Adomaitis; and one by Mrs. Maureen Snyder and Mrs. Audrey Layman at the home of Mrs. Rose Dan­ tuma, grandmother of the groom. Lovely School Chapel Setting For Wedding Celebrates Birthday ANNA RASMUSSEN % Mrs. Anna Rasmussen, who formerly lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Pearl and Merle Oliver, at 2815 N. Wooded lane, Pistakee Bay, McHenry, will observe her ninety-sixth birthday Sunday, Aug. 17. The occasion will be feted with a celebration at the home of her son, Elmer Rasmussen and his wife Mildred, in Arlington Heights, with many relatives and friends joining in the festivities. Mrs. Rasmussen is visiting in the area with her daughter and son-in-law, the Olivers, living in a travel trailer at Pistakee Fishing club. They plan to return to Port Richey, Fla. sometime after the 19th of August, where they have made their home since 1977. Mrs. Rasmussen's health is good, considering her age, and she travels extensively by car. For the past three years, she has come to visit her daughter and son-in-law, Alice and Doug Leitch of Forest Park, 111. and her many friends in the vicinity. Infant Christened Greg Donald Snyder was one of the babies christened at St. Patrick's Catholic church in McHenry, July 13. The afternoon ceremony was presided over by Father Edmund Petit, pastor. The infant's godparents, James and Mary Beth Blum, attended with their children, Mara and James, Jr. His parents, Richard and Harriet, witnessed the celebration with Ann, Ruth, Judy, Paul, John and Carol. Also in attendance was his paternal grandfather, Peter Snyder of Galena, 111. Other guests were Fred Clairmont, Kathy McGee, Laura Schoolcraft and Bret Johnson. Unable to attend were his brothers, Brian, Mark and Lee. Greg was born June 5, at Memorial hospital for McHenry county at Wood­ stock. A special cake was decorated appropriately Judy and Carol. In the presence of Reverend Mark Holmer, Linda Susan Lord and Alfred J. Julian - exchanged promises of marriage Aug. 9, in the beautiful chapel at Carthage college in Kenosha, Wis. Steve Anderson, ac­ companied on the organ, provided special music for the 3:30 p.m. ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Reginald and Evelyn Lord, 5019 N. Pistakee drive, McHenry. Peter and Maria Julian, 573 Mclntire, Fairborn, Ohio, are the parents of the groom. The bride chose a white empire gown with capelet sleeves and a Queen Anne lace collar. The bodice was enchanced with em­ broidered detailing and a picture hat completed the look. Her bouquet was fashioned of silk flowers, including pink and white carnations and baby's breath. Karen Evans of Glen Ellyn was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride's sister, Vicki Lord of McHenry; and college friends, Jacque Anderson, Rockford, 111.; Chris Schumacher, Chicago; and Mary Jo Reichert, Kenosha, Wis. Attendants were attired in floor length, dusty rose polyester gowns with a pleated empire skirt, ac­ cented with a bolero jacket. Hilltop, McHenry, were married July 19, in St. John the Baptist Catholic church in a 3 p.m. liturgy celebrated by Father Leo Bartel. A reception was held at the Sheraton Inn, Waukegan, for 245 guests. The bride is a special education teacher for Schaumburg School District No. 54. The groom is employed as a consulting engineer for Donohue and Associates, Hoffman Estates, 111. and Joe Filbiandt, Racine, Wis. The mother of the bride chose a floor length, toast color polyester knit gown with matching cape. A flow length, blue chiffon gown with matching cape was the choice of the groom's mother. After the ceremony, the newlyweds were toasted by 140 guests at the Holiday Inn in Kenosha, Wis. Out-of- town guests were from New York, Ohio and California. The couple will make their home in Kenosha after a wedding trip to Maine, continuing along the coast to Niagara Falls and Montreal. The bride majored in music at Carthage college where she received her degree. She is currently a music specialist at two Kenosha schools. The groom attended Ohio State university, specializing in welding and is presently employed by Modine Manufacturing company in Racine as a research engineer. Court No. 777 Plans Outing Plans will be made for a court outing to be held in September, at the regular meeting of St. Agatha Court No. 777 of the National Catholic Society of Foresters, Monday, Aug. 18, 7:30 p.m. at the Johnsburg Community club hall. Also to be discussed will be the annual Day of Recollection. This will be the end of September, at the Bishop Lane Retreat House in Rockford. Mrs. Evelyn Diedrich will be in charge of the social hour.
