Robert John arrived at McHenry hospital weighing 7 lbs., 8 oz., and stretching the ruler to 19 inches. His paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Merwyn Schmitt of McHenry. WOMAN'S CLUB OUTING The Lakeland Park Woman's club spffent an evening out on Sunday, Nov. 16, when eight members went to Shady Lane theater. The ladies who enjoyed seeing the comedy "Getting Mama Married" were Francis Kostka, Zena Thoresen, Bernelle Lovett, Barb Burke, Sue Danielson, Viola Kelly, Ruth Roach and Marie Cross. After seeing the play, a delicious dinner was served and everyone agreed that the members who weren't present missed a delightful evening. TURKEY TIME It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving is this week, which means Christmas is just around the corner. I feel like it was only yesterday that I was planting seeds in the garden and here we are now talking about turkey, Christmas shopping and snow. The Cominsky family wishes all our residents a very Happy Thanksgiving. I'm sure many of you will be travelling this holiday or having family and friends to your homes. I expect my phone to ring off the wall with all your calls next week telling me what your family did. BIRTHDAY PARTY It was a very special birth­ day this year for John Cserep because his newest grandson Benjamin Jordan came home from the hospital. The big day was Tuesday, Nov. 18, when all his family congregated to wish him a very happy. His wife Joyce saw to it that everyone was gathered for the double celebration. came with her husband John and children Annette, Scott and Joey. Number three daughter, Sue Jordan and her husband Jeff and baby Benjamin were kind enough to let us take over their home for the evening for the very happy event. Oh what fun it is to have this family living so close to make these gatherings possible. SCUBA DIVER Michael Borchardt has been taking scuba diving lessons at the Y.M.C.A. and recently went to Racine to take a 52 foot dive. When he reached the 50-foot mark the water was a very cold 35 He will be taking a written exam soon which will complete the requirements to be a certified diver. Mike believes in going from one extreme to another, his next venture will be sky diving lessons. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Good wishes to Sam Bucaro and Evelyn Osman on Nov. 26. The 27th is the special day for Don Humann. Trudy Lynn Koch and Bill Chadwick hear the birthday song Nov. 28. Erin Serpe will be four years old Nov. 29.
