THEFT, BURGLARY INVESTIGATED BY SHERIFF'S POLICE Over $150 worth of furniture was stolen from the Justen warehouse east of McHenry on Rt. 120. The theft was reported to the McHenry county sheriffs - department on July 18. The furniture has been recovered and the case has been closed. A burglary was attempted at FreuncTs Campers, 1701 W.Rt. 120, McHenry, on the night of July 21 while Lawrence Freund and his wife slept at their res idence on the lot. Someone for ced a screen from a window at the home. When the screen*"* broke, it cracked out like a gun shot. Hearing the noise, the Freunds awoke and looked out their bedroom window. Ac cording to Mrs. Freund, they saw a man, approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall-and weigh ing 180 pounds, run across the yard. The stranger jumped into a dark-colored auto and quickly drove away. FOUR DUMPED IN RIVER AFTER BOAT CAPSIZES Four Chicago area men were dumped into the strong current of the Fox river when a speed ing boat caused them to cap size off Snug Harbor on July 20. David Bass, Chicago, and his three friends were fishing in a rented 12-foot aluminum boat when an 18-foot fiberglass craft lost the skier which it was towing and circled around Bass. The wake from the ski boat's prop caused the other boat to tilt and throw the fishermen into the water. Even after the aluminum boat completely turn ed over, the occupants in the ski boat refused to help Bass and his friends. Instead, they laughed and sped toward the south, leaving the four men to be picked up by McHenry county sheriffs deputies and the Coast guard. The offending craft was found to be registered to Steven A. Von Rhedey, 30 VV. 420 Mul berry drive, West Chicago. JOSEPH L. FREUND Joseph L. Freund died in Memorial hospital, Woodstock, on July 21.
