b WINNETKA WEEKLY TALK, SATURDAY, JANUARY 17, 1925 13 "Fashion" to Be Given with Accuracy and Originality REAT interest attaches to the next ¥ play of the North Shore Theatre Guild on account of the novelty of its production. No play that the Guild has given called forth a greater amount of research and detail than has "Fashion," a play of the "fabulous for- ties." It is being produced as nearly as possible in the way it was produced in its own time. Howard Jones, the direc- tor, under the general management of Alexander Dean, is particularly fitted to coach such a play, and has given himself untiringly to the study of detail. In cos- tume, setting, and stage technique one can be sure that the period is accurately reflected. Mrs. F. W. Bond has made a most searching study of the costumes, and each bow and furbelow is correctly appointed. Songs have been gleaned from dusty old albums and are used in the most unforseen ways. One wonders if the stage "methods" of the present day will ever seem as funny to a suc- ceeding generation. "Fashion" was one of the New York successes of last year. To have it pro- duced locally with such accuracy and originality is a great achievement for the Theatre Guild. tt The first meeting of :he new vear which was "Garden Planning Day" for the Wilmette Garden club, drew a very enthusiastic gathering.
