a § WINNETKA WEEKLY TALK, SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 14, 1925 be CAMPERS MEET FOR BIG FEAST Adventure Islanders to Frolic February 27 Winnetka boys who get back to na- ture every summer at Charles A. Kin- ney's Adventure Island fastnesses in the Sturgeon Bay region, will enjoy their winter frolic at the fireside Fri- day evening, February 27, at Com- munity House. The boys received their notices from the "skipper" this week and are looking forward to a riot of fun. Fathers and mothers will be invited for the latter part of the program to view some motion pictures taken in camp last summer. Skipper Kinney's note to the youth- ful woodsmen follows: "Dear fellow campers :- "On Friday evening, February 27, "Sip" will again sound the siren and the line-up for mess will begin promptly at six. "Bob" Townley will be ready to give you the once over or clean hands and combed hair. "Tony" and "Sip" have volunteered to substitute for Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Reder, so we are sure to get a square meal. "Come all set for a feast of eats and fun. Many of the old time Adven- ture Islanders will be on hand. Dave Delay, Bob Lakemacher, the Jewells, (John, Ariel and their Dad), Webbie Jackson, and a host of others, not to mention last year's campers. After we have stowed our hatches with "eats." "Tony" and "Bob" are go- mg to put us through a few stunts. Then we will have Landis Blair and Ewing Johansen show the younger boys the best way to hunt snipe. "Hank" Allen will be with us, we hope, with his customary readiness to lick any boy not over twice his size. Bill Hughes is going to relate some of his hair raising experiences with the wild cats that used to roost on his tent. Big Chief Paul, Angora, and Percival, with most of the cast of "Dauntless Nicolet," will be in the line-up. "After dinner the feature of the eve- ning will be the motion pictures (two full reels) taken at camp last sum- mer. To the dinner you may invite one boy friend. To the pictures, which will be shown at 8:15 o'clock, your parents and their friends are cordi- ally invited. Don't forget the date, Friday evening. February 27, at the Winnetka Community House.
