L WINNETKA WEEKLY TALK, SATURDAY, APRIL 4, 1925 19 Catholic League Plans a Benefit Rummage Sale HE social service department of the North Shore Catholic Wom- en's league held a very interest- ing meeting this week at the home of Mrs. A. J. Roth, 246 Sheridan road, Winnetka. Plans were made at this time to hold a rummage sale for the benefit of this department. Members and friends are urged to save their cast-off furniture, clothing, and dishes, for the sale which will be held during the current month, the exact day and place to be amnounced later. The league has taken a block of tickets for the Woman's World's Fair to be held in Chicago, and members and friends may obtain them from Mrs. Frederick Hubsch of Winnetka, or Mrs. W. A. Kittermaster of Glencoe. The study class will meet Monday, April 6, at the home of Mrs. W. A. Kittermaster, 816 Bluff street, Glencoe. --_---- Because of a fire in the home of Mrs. Forest R. Lowrey, 550 Oak street, the East Elm street circle will meet at the home of Mrs. George W. Hin- man of 576 Oak street, on Tuesday, April 7, at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. Mrs. Forest R. Lowrey, Mrs. Justus Chancellor, and Mrs. Harold Wilder will be the assisting hostesses. Mr. and Mrs. Roland Whitman and their four children and nurse arrived in Winnetka on Thursday of last week after spending the past eight months abroad. They are at their home, 643 Hill road. For six months they lived in Paris, and spent the remainder of their time in England and Italy. --0-- Mrs. Ayres Boal, 701 Sheridan road, and her son, Stewart, left this week for Washington and New York. Mr. Boal and Ayres Boal, Jr. also are tak- ing a vacation. They have gone to New Orleans, but expect to be back for Faster when Mrs. Boal and Ste- wart will return. --_--Q-- Mrs. Godfrey H. Atkin and her daughter, Margot, 5 Indian Hill road, have been spending two weeks in Atlantic City. Miss Margot returned to Dobbs Ferry on Wednesday to con- tinue her studies, and Mrs. Atkin is expected home Sunday.
