A WINNETKA WEEKLY TALK, SATURDAY, APRIL 11, 1925 19 Woman's Society Extends Invitation to Villagers EDNESDAY, April 15, is to be .a very attractive one for all who can attend the program and luncheon given by the Woman's Society. '"Americanization" is the topic of the morning program, and will be treated from two viewpoints. Miss Emma Gertrude White will tell of her remarkable work with foreion children in the Evanston Public schools, and Mrs. William D. Moulton will discuss the work done in the English classes in Community House. Mrs. George Frazer will add a group of songs, and the purpose of the day will be fittingly consummated by a cnecial offering of money, "The Home Tank Ocering," which will go to Tower Hill. Tower Hill is a 50 acre farm at Saw- yer, Mich., given for the use of grouns of settlement children in need of an outing, for summer conferences of young people, and for an inexpensive vacation place for many social and religious workers, who now cannot afford the cost of a week or two of rest and relaxation. Everyone interested is invited to come Wednesday. Mrs. Gerald Beard will open the meeting with a devo- tional service, and luncheon will be served for a nominal charge at 12:15 o'clock. This is the last regular meet- ing of the society preceding the an- nual election and report session in May. --O The benefit card party for the In- dian Hill Camp will take place Tues- day afternoon, April 14, at 2 o'clock. at the Winnetka Woman's club. Miss Alice Gerstenberg will talk about plays and read three of her one act pays on Tuesday, April 4, at 2:30 o'clock at the home of Mrs. Ayres Boal, for the same benefit. ---- Archibald Beebe and his sisters. Miss Katherine Beebe and Mrs. M. K. Valentine, returned from Pasadena on April 6, to their home at 25 Indian Hill road. Mr. and Mrs. R. C. McNamara who have been occupying their resi- dence during the winter, will move into their own home at 267 Ridge avenue. --Q-- Miss Alice H. Dean, head of the oc- cupational therapy department of the Evanston hospital, and Miss Catherine B. Butz will entertain at tea next Thursday for Mrs. Clifford Baugh who is leaving Winnetka to reside in La Grange where Mr. Baugh has pur- chased a new home. im, Mrs. Norman Harrower of Fitch- burg, Mass, arrived in Winnetka Thursday to be the guest of Mrs. Ralph Hamill, Miss Harriot Houghtel- ing, and her sister, Mrs. Samuel Gree- ley. Mrs. Harrower's daughter, Miss Nancy Crocker, will join her for her spring vacation. s----Covaes Mr. and Mrs. Hathaway Watson will entertain Mr. and Mrs. James Stevens and Mr. and Mrs. Horace Bridges | Announcement is made of the mar- riage of Miss Kittie Keller and Wil- liam T. SO The Scott Avenue circle will post- pone its April meeting from April 14, to April 21, on account of the card arty to be given on the former day for the benefit of the Community House Camp. There will be further notice of the meeting. EE Mrs. Thomas McLaren, 1004 Pine street, and their children, will spend the Easter vacation at Signal Moun- tain, Tenn. They are leaving Win- netka Monday, to be gone 10 days. Mr. McLaren will join them later and return home with his family. i The Winnetka Sunday Evening club will meet next Sunday evening at 6:30 o'clock in the Camp Fire room of Com- munity House. Supper will be served. The program is being arranged under the direction of David Lasier, president of the club.
