WINNETKA WEEKLY TALK, SATURDAY, APRIL, 18, 1925 25 TEACHERS HOLD SESSION MONDAY Children to Enjoy Vacation While Instructors Ponder School Problems LOCAL LEADERS SPEAK All Schools of North Shore to Participate Children of the entire Lake Shore division, including the north shore, will get another vacation on Monday, April 20, when their teachers go to the Illi- nois State Teachers' association meet- ings, the Lake Shore division, which will be held at the Woman's Club of Evanston on that date. The general sessions of the associa- tion will be held n two sections with teachers from Evanston, Wilmette, Kenilworth, Winnetka, New Trier, Glencoe, Highland Park, Lake Bluff, Lake Forest and Waukegan meeting at the Woman's club and all others at the First Methodist church. New Trier Leaders Speak Thirteen nationally known educa- tors will appear on the program, be- sides a number of high school and ele- mentary teachers from this section who will preside and lead discussions in the sectional meetings. Among the latter are R. L. F. Biesemeier, head of the manual training department of New Trier high school who will be chairman of the 1:45 section on fine and applied arts; Mrs. Homer E. Cot- ton, supervisor of music from the same school who will be director of that session; C. N. Stokes of New Trier, who will be chairman of the Intermediate and High School section at the same hour; and Lucy Tolhurst of Wilmette, who will be chairman of the English session in the afternoon. Arthur B. Rowell, superintendent of schools in Glencoe, is secretary of the Lake Shore division and E. L. Ny- gaard, principal of the Joseph Sears school, Kenilworth, is treasurer. The president is Floyd T. Goddier of Chi- cago Heights, and Emma G. White of Evanston is vice president. F. A. Kuh- ler of New Trier Township High school is on the legislative committee and Mrs. P. B. Kohlsaat of Winnetka is a member of the resolutions committee. Hear Famous Choir Among the features on the program will be two addresses by Lorado Taft, one at 9:30 in the morning and the second at 1:45 o'clock in the after- noon. The A cappella choir, directed by Peter C. Lutkin of the Northwest- ern university school of music will 1 high school problems. is so arranged that both of these at- tractions will appear at each of the two sections in the morning, Mr. Taft and the A Cappella choir alternating at the two meetings. The afternoon program will be de- voted to sectional meetings on various subjects such as the fine and applied arts, music, rural and natural science, Primary, Elementary, Intermediate and There will also be sections on English, social science and mathematics and a separate sec- tion for principals and supervisors.
