Reservations, it is stated, must be made by Saturday, May 2. _ The April meeting of the social serv- ice department will be held in Win- netka, Monday afternoon, at 2 o'clock, at the home of Mrs. E. C. Weissen- berg, 813 Elm street. ---- Dr. V. Massman, 926 Oak street, has purchased the William Joy property at the corner of Locust and Pine streets. Mr. and Mrs. Jay are moving to Glen Ellyn the first of May, where they have purchased a new home. The Joys are old residents of the village, having lived here for 18 or 20 years. They will be very much missed by their host of friends. == Cu Miss Marion Louise Putman pre- sents her pupils in a recital Saturday, April 25, at 3 o'clock in the afternoon, at the North Shore hotel. Among the Winnetka girls are: Ruth Samuelson, Anite Johnson, Elizabeth Layer, Bar- bara Uhe, Lila Johnson, Vera Ander- son, Margaret Layer, Elida Nelson and Romayne Gunsteens. --Q-- J. N. Kumozawa of the University of Pennsylvania and captain of the gymnasium team there, has been at the University of Chicago this past week attending the gymnasium tourn- ament between these two colleges. He was a guest this past week-end at the home of Miss Veda C. Henry, 576 Hawthorn lane. ---- The annual luncheon of the Drama club will be given at Community House Monday, April 27, at 1 o'clock. The O. E. S. is holding a rummage sale next Thursday at 1906 Maple ave- nue, Evanston. Those having articles to contribute are requested to send them to Mrs. Thomas N. Wheatley, 329 Fairview avenue, not later than Wednesday morning. The goods will be sorted there before removal to Evanston. --_--(-- Mrs. Arthur Boynton, 602 Cherry street, left on Tuesday last for a five week stay in the East. She will visit in New York and Rhode Island, her old home, where she will attend the wedding of her younger sister. On her return trip, she will stop off for a brief visit with friends in Washington. ---- Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Crombie have sold their home at 1219 Scott avenue, to Mr. and Mrs. Chapin Palmer of Chicago. The Crombies are moving back to the east. They will spend some time at Sound Beach, Conn., be- fore going to New York to reside. ---- The North Shore branch of the Chi- cago Rockford College association will hold its first spring meeting on Satur- day, May 2, at 3 o'clock, at Winnetka Community House. The new chair- man, Miss Margery Winds of Win- netka, will preside. nie Mr. and Mrs. P. W. Bradstreet re- turned this week from Atlantic City, New York, and Boston where they spent the spring vacation with their son, Donald, who is attending Cornell university. They were away three weeks, --(-- Mr. and Mrs. Arthur E. Bryson of 182 Mrytle avenue, are leaving on Sat- urday of this week for a week's vaca- tion at White Sulphur Springs. From there Mrs. Bryson will go and visit her sister in Cleveland, for a week or two. --(-- Miss Kathleen Air of the Winnetka branch of the Columbia school of Music, who has been ill the past week. has again resumed her work at the studio and is preparing one of her large recitals for May 1, at the Wom- an's club. --(-- Mr. and Mrs. William Echols and their daughter, Miss Peggy, of the Or- rington hotel, will be week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Foster Alden, 321 Linden avenue. The Aldens will take their guests on a motor trip to the Lake Geneva Country club. --_--Q-- Mrs. Maurice Lieber will speak be- fore the Walden road circle next Mon- day afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, at the home of Mrs. Thomas Holton, 938 Pine street. Mrs. Arthur Dean and Mrs. Percival Hunter will give a group of piano duets. --n Mrs. Edgar Foster Alden, 352 Lin- den avenue, is chairman of the booth committee of the Illinois Woman's Athletic club exhibit at the Woman's World's Fair held this week at the American Exposition Palace, 666 Lake Shore drive.
