It is being built for use at Adventure Island, north shore boys' camp near Fish Creek, Wis. Two Men Injured When Automobiles Collide Two men were injured in a collision between an automobile driven by A. D. Plamondon, wealthy business man re- siding at the Edgewater Beach hotel, Chicago, and one driven by George Kragchavch, 340 South avenue, Glencoe, last Friday afternoon. They were taken to the Evanston hospital by Dr. Frank Blatchford and Patrolman Theodore Anderson. The two who were injured were John Vyskiel, 1472 Asbury avenue, Hubbard Woods, and Henry Kurmack, 3219 North Leavitt street, Chicago. They were rid- ing with Kragchavch. At the hospital their injuries were said not to be serious. The accident occurred about 5:30 o'clock in the afternoon. Plamondon was driving a Hudson car south on Ma- ple avenue when he collided with Krag- chavch's Ford car which was traveling west on Pine street. Both cars were seriously damaged. Kin of Dr. D. W. Poff Passes Away at Olney Will Poff, uncle of Dr. Delbert W. Poff, 739 Walden road, died at his home in Olney, Ill, last Wednesday after a brief illness. Dr. and Mrs. Poff and their daughter left Thursday evening for Olney, where they will attend the funeral services. 'The three cars in- volved in the collision were driven by Mrs. Henry P. Pope, 126 Hazel avenue, Glencoe; George Lawton, 3911 Lindar avenue, Chicago, and Clarence Cook, of the C. M. McDonald company, 1019 Davis street, Evanston. According to police reports, Mrs. Pope's car collided with the Lawton machine first, afterward colliding with Cook's car. All three cars ran up on the parkway. The acci- dent occurred about 10 o'clock in the evening. MOTHER DIES ON THE COAST Mr. and Mrs. Ernest J. Allsebrook have been in California recently because of the fatal illness of Mrs. Allsebrook's mother. Death occurred shortly after they arrived on the coast. Miss Gould is one of several nationally known speakers to appear on the con- vention program. Booksellers and publishers represent- ing interests in every section of the country will attend the convention. Miss Gould has been invited to talk regarding her Book Corner feature, which appears each week in various community newspapers in this vicinity. She is called upon at frequent inter- vals to address women's clubs and so- cieties on the subject of books and reading. Skokie Pupils Arrange Old Time May Day Fest Children of the Skokie school are pre- paring to hold an old English May Day festival at the school. The date has not yet been set but it is expected to be near the end of the month. The affair will probably be held in the gymnasium, and will be for the pupils only. There will be booths at which all kinds of articles will be sold, ring tossing, Morris dances, a maypole and many other features which enlivened the May Day in old England. Pupils of the three lower grades of the school are staging the festival. Band at Skokie School Rapidly Learning Tunes The Skokie school band is progress- ing very favorably, according to Mrs. P. B. Kohlsaat, supervisor of music for the Winnetka schools. The band has been in existence only a few weeks, but already it is learning to play in tune, and its tone qualities are becoming pleasing, it was said. The band will give a concert some time during the month, but a definite date has not been set. It has a personnel of 30 boys and is directed by Edward Mel- zer, director of the Northwestern uni- versity band.
